First post on here, I have been browsing for some time now but held back from signing up due to some of the rovers lot on here "I would get in trouble". Anyhow i bit me lip and i'm here now

Just wondering what you guys think with regards our pro's and con's. I think we are very powerfull down the middle (in the pack) but that means nothing if teams can steam role us out-wide.

I think with Woodie out injured, it makes us even more "proned" to getting done outwide.

I think if we get players back from injury we will be up there this season, but I expect a lot of our games that we do win to be high scoring affairs, and our attack has to be on song every game, it's a fact we will leak trys left and right, but hopefully not centre .

I made a poll, was just wondering what you thought, should agar have brought in another winger/centre?

I don't think the lack of depth on the wings will cost us this season. What will decide how well we do is how many games Long and Horne play. Think our backs are good enough to be honest, maybe could do with a natural winger while Calderwood is out but it's not essential.

We do have a problem defensively out wide but watching the Leeds and Wigan games you would say we had a problem defensively throughout the side.
I think our main problem this season is consistency and that can happen when putting a lot of new players together and changing the way people are used to playing. But at the end of the day only time will tell.

Our backline is the least of our problems.

Firstly, do we actually have a problem out wide?

Secondly, if we do, is it Agar's fault for not signing a centre/winger? Who could/should we have signed? Who was to know Calderwood would be injured as often as he has been?

Im just saying in general, it's the same with giving daft penalties all the time.

We have no consistancy, and every time a team we are up against throw the ball outwide we concede 9 times out of 10.

Craig hall for example, there is so many situations where he is coming off his wing and leaving an overlap outwide, briscoe does it all the time too.

99% of leeds trys were scored out wide, same for warrington, same with salford, where on 4 occasions, we had 6-7 players on jodie broughton on 2 occasions out-wide and he still managed to touch down. Away to wigan, craig hall once again, i'm not pointing the finger at craig hall entirely, it should be the team sliding their defense, but at the end of the day whether we like it or not, teams will continue to hit us out wide as it's our weakness, and we always looks like we are going to concede the second it gets shipped out.

I would rather see this;

Briscoe Yeaman, Luaki and manu on the other flanks. Craig hall on the bench (or you could have whiting playing in the centre roll). I think in all honesty agar is out of his-depth, he highlights weakness's but he never does anything about them.

And before people say "What do i know" i have supported Hull for 13 years since i was 8 years old, and I go to every game home and away.

I think we have too much about us this season to finish any lower than the past 2 seasons and i think we should make the play-offs IF we stay mostly injury free, especially to our key areas (long/horne) and fitzy. But i still think in games and in patches we look like the same team last season "tactically" and sometimes in attack.

Another thing, why no matter what coach we have or set of players do we always give away the same daft penalties . My dads a rovers fan but likes to see both teams do well, and he always says "same hull f.c always giving daft penalties away and putting ourselves under pressure in defense, and sometimes panicking in attack.

Its no surprise our right hand side looks weak without Tickle who is our leader in defence on that side.

I think its more to do with confidence in the players around you which you can only get from having a settled side which we have lacked in the past few weeks.

The main thing Agar must have learnt from the Leeds game is that we cant afford to have Hame defending so wide as he gets caught out of position so much it made Hall and Whiting look terrible.

voted for no simply because Calderwood will be back soon and also our other wingers and centres are easily good enough to compete on their day.

Was speaking to Calderwood prior to the Warrington game and he said he was out for another 10-12 weeks from then.

There was nothing wrong with the defence at the start of the season, Even Agar was bleating on how good it was.

first time he's had a pass all season and he suddenly got 4 in one game.
