An article in the National Daily Mail claims both City and Wigan are expecting a motion at the summer meeting of the Premier league to ban dual sporting use of stadiums in the top flight. The poor state of both pitches is seen by rival clubs as been caused by them sharing the ground’s with Super League Clubs

City would be the ones that would need to move anyway if the Premier League enforced it. We have a 25 year lease, i'd take a five million in compensation from City if they wanted to buy us out of it. |

It couldn't happen, the monies invested by the Council and various sporting bodies would have to be repaid, in total about £100m would be needed (remember, the land the stadium was built on was a "gift" from the Council, so anyone wanting a sole sport use for the stadium would have to buy it, they'd also have to compensate FC, City cannot afford to do any of that, with or without the Premier League TV monies. |
