I've just got sky, is there a channel that you can watch the BBC Super league show on? my old man says he can't get it but i think there might be a Northern monkey region channel on there where you can watch it?

Different subject slightly but still in relation to Sky, the news this morning said that Sky TV had been told that they needed to reduce the price that they charge other cable networks to show Sky sports. As a result the money sky will make will drop. Does anything think this could have a major impact on our game with Sky providing a huge amount of the funding?

Yeah you can get all the different regions BBC channels, they are just after all the porn channels, number 900 and something.

Hopefully not a significant impact although it must be a worry for all sports that Sky cover. I think the ruling only covered football?? so in a perfect world it would just mean less money for the over-paid football clubs.........
Sky have said that they will challenge the ruling so that could take another 12/18 months before we know the full outcome.

Thanks for the clarity, didnt hear the bit about just covering football. Would be a worry for us if it covers all sports. Guess there 2 options for sky:
1. give the clubs less money
2. charge the punters more for sky to make up the shortfall

Sky is vastly over priced anyway, would be interesting to see what happens when it all plays out.

The regional BBC channels are at the other end of the TV guide on Sky. But, yes you can watch SL show were ever you like, just tune to BBC Yorkshire and Humber.

Here are the channel numbers... just don't "accidently" scroll up to the channels starting at 900.

There was a pretty good piece on it during Today on R4 this morning, and there's a decent summary page on the Beeb website.
