| Terrific amount of effort put in today by us. To say their pack is on paper much better than ours, again, for me, this was not where the game was lost. Again we struggled to break down the opposition defence but at least the PTB was faster and we spread the ball wider today. Broughton took his interception really well and his chase across to Riley was excellent. Better game from Yeamo with a trademark hit. Berrigan played as well as I've seen him this season. To say the guy needs an op and is playing with injections his effort was outstanding today. Lee showed up well and G Horne had a good game defensively particularly the 1st half. King put in a couple of strong stints.
On the downside we still look like creating little. R Horne was disappointing, looked slow and his kicking was poor. Tony made good metres but was shown up again in core fullback areas. Radford offered little and both Dowes and Lee looked to have taken knocks - Lee had a huge ice pack on his knee at the end.
Disappointing to have lost, but in terms of collective effort, a big step up. That's all I ask of the players.

we've finally ditched Thorman after weeks of dross, surely its now time for Radford to be dropped too, how many bad games can he have?
sounds like another 'tried hard but had no ideas' performance, which is all good and commendable, but we've come home with 0 points again.

If we can keep the effort consistent, it's a start.

Think wire had a big 15 min spell, which blew us apart. Apart from that, especially in the first half anyway it was an arm wrestle and we worked very hard

There are many who choose not to go to games claiming that they don't mind losing if put in some effort. If the team replicate today's effort and these people still stay away, at least we know their pants are on fire.
Did you see the line-ups before the game? Wire better in virtually every position, partly due to our recruitment, partly due to player availability. We gave this game everything we had and I'm glad I was there.

[quote="Wellsy13":1juz9zgo]To us REAL fans, there's no better feeling than winning competitions. Getting to a final is next. Then a top 6 finish or semi-final appearance. Then I suppose the derby counts as the most important league fixture.
Us real fans don't look over our shoulder at our neighbours and do whatever we can to get one over on them. We look at the bigger picture. And this is the reason why Rovers are and will forever be considered a small club. Because their fans and board would rather get one over on Hull FC above anything else.
Quite sad, really! [/quote:1juz9zgo]

| I thought you were the better team for long periods today whilst both teams seemed to struggle to find that final killer play to score the points. The only exception was the 10-15 minute spell at the start of the second half when we took the game away from you.
When you scored your second try I really thought you would kick on and claw your way back into the game, fortunately (for us) that didn't quite happen.

| The effort was there, but if we were a bit smarter with ball in hand we'd have put 40 on you, Graeme Horne is never a SL player and until you find a number 7 you will struggle, I think Manu and Yeaman played well with Broughton lookiing like he has a bright future.
