For me....

Motu - club seem to be hiding extent of injury. Good player and would be off quota but wants to go back home (injury permitting) - Leaving

Reardon - Get Rid!!!

Craig Hall - Where gonna damage a promising kid by killing him at fullback. Needs to play centre in a good back line - keep

Raynor - Quality but poor bloke has never played with a decent centre - Keep

Tom Briscoe - Rising star - definitely keep (although we will probably bring him to our level) - keep

Calderwood - Cant fault enthusiasm. Guy thrives on chances with his pace will never get them with our HB's. Will never be a powerful 'break tackle' winger - keep

Yeamo - On his day and in right team - Class - Keep

G Horne - Not upto this level - will never win us trophies - Get Rid

R Horne - Love the guy to bits but never a HB - needs broken play to run into. Needs to be FB or centre. Static when receiving the ball, poor kick game and not a 'voice' in the team. keep but at FB

Thorman - Simply - Get Rid - Poor kick game -cannot run the line, poor full back playing scrum half

Dowes - grafter - tireless worker - cannot punch line though. Agar spells too long - Keep

King - had his day?? but only player who shows aggression - undecided?

Cusack - Too similiar to Dowes but takes up quota space - Get Rid

Thacks - Not the player of 2005 - Too many penalties, never really busts line, just runs sidewards - Get Rid

Maloney - unproven - Too early to say

Berro - World class but looks as interested as a veggie at a steak eating contest - if we cant turn around short time get rid - he wont be here for a struggle - if we get a new coach and recruit well - keep - cos hes class

Moa - Looks good - if only Agar didn't play him on an egg timer - Keep

Radford - plodder - Get Rid

Tickle - Good 2nd row forward- hard eorker but needs a quality running 2nd rower alongside - keep

Burnett - promisng - keep

Manu - Sheer quality but lacks the backs to put him in space - Keep

Washbrook - not showing quality of 3 years ago - probably due to poor coaching - get rid

Tommy Lee - shouldn't be FC class - Ged rid

Houghton - Rising star but if berro's fit and focused should be plying his trade in the reserves and as an understudy.

Whiting - great lad but injury prone - time to let him develope else where - get rid

Basically I think we need:

New coaches

R horne at FB
Raynor
New centre
Yeamo
Calderwood
New Stand off
New Scrum Half
Dowes
Focused Berro - or new hooker
New Prop
2nd rower - ideally Crocker / Manu
Tickle
Loose Man

bench off

Manu (if crocker arrives)
Lauaki (yes I'm dreaming)
Moa
New signing

in our current squad, the people who i would keep would be:

Richard Horne

Craig Hall (Needs to be coached well)

Gaz Raynor

Mark Calderwood - Give him chances he will score

Yeaman - Needs a good SH to send him through the gaps

Ewan Dowes - Faultless IMO good hard grafter and can pull off a good tackle.

Richard Whiting - Injury prone yes, but IMO i think hes class in the right position.

Danny Washbrook - Needs good runners and needs his SO to be playing so he can go back LF.

Sam Moa - Looks a very good prospect with good fitness and more game time could prove to be very good.

Jamie Thackray - I'd keep him, he brings some good impact from the bench, but needs to run straight!.

Maloney - Hmmm, i would keep him, looks good and could prove to be very good.

Danny Tickle - Good runner and good kicker.

Willie Manu - Need i say why?

Shuan Berrigan - With good HB's and the pack on top, he comes alive and can change a game in an instant, top class.

Paul King - He can sometimes drift out of games but, he has aggression and passion (sometimes) and in the recent derby he was outstanding IMO.

Houghton - Good player, with the guidance of Berrigan he come a class act. And he brings speed.

Tom Briscoe - What a prospect for the future, hard to tackle and always looks to make a break.

So i think we need a Full Back, Scrum Half, Centre, Second Rower and maybe a prop and a utility player.

I would rid ourselves of

Thorman (no good)
King (had his day and thanks)
Motu (injuries)
Cusack (end of contract)
G Horne (not up to it)
Washbrook (either play him or don't)

Borderline

Thackray
Hall
Lee
Moa
Yeaman

Next year should be:

1. Richard Horne
2. Mark Calderwood
3. Tom Briscoe
4. Kirk Yeaman
5. Gareth Raynor
6. Danny Washbrook
7. New Signing (Matt Orford please)
8. Ewan Dowes
9. Shaun Berrigan
10. Hame Luaki (if he comes)
11. Mick Crocker (if he comes)
12. Mike Burnett
13. Richard Whiting

14. Willie Manu
15. Sam Moa
16. Dominic Maloney
17. New Signing/Danny Houghton/Tommy Lee

G Horne isn't good enough imo, however I wouldnt be too annoyed if he iskept as a squad player.
Tickle can stay or go for me, again he's okay but not good enough for a top class team.
Undecided about King and Thacks, on their day they are great but their days are few and far between atm.
I think Motu and Cusack will be leaving anyway, however I would keep Motu if he gets over his injuries properly.
Thorman should go
I really don't know about Hall, maybe keep him and send him out on loan to develop his game and get abit of confidence.
No idea about Reardon yet.
Radford okay to cover back row and prop but shouldnt be starting every week if we are fully fit.

Yeah, because he's lazy, keeps dropping the ball and never comes over to applaud the East Stand at the end.

Get a grip.

That one made me laugh, get rid of a guy who is still to play a game for the club but keep Hall who quite frankly as become a liability. I admit he is not a fb but catch a ball is a basic skill especially for a back.
