| Stevo campaigning for the scrapping of Scrums. What does everybody think?
Personally, since they became uncontested, I've always thought they have been a waste of time. Became even worse when they allowed the diagonal feed through the Prop's legs straight to the back of the scrum.
Therefore, don't see the point of carrying with the current situation, but would rather go back to contested scrums as opposed to just scrapping them.

| While we are on the subject of keeping and removing they need to get rid of the rule were if the foot is on the dead ball line you can tap it over. Just removes any rewards of putting in a pin point kick happened twice to St Helens tonight and just think it looks garbage.
Also keep the scrum for me, But make them contested!

| Contested scrums would bring back the plodding props, I'd see them scrapped.

| one point about scrums that a lot of people gloss over is the fact that they tie up 6 players from each side for 1 play. in an attacking situation it gives more adventurous teams a chance to put on a special play, as for a few seconds, its 7 a side. remember the 1982 replay. sadly nowadays most sides would rather play the percentage game of 6 drives rather than chancing their arm on tackle 1

| Allow the forwards to contest (as in shove ) once the ball is in, actual enforcement of the 5 metre rule for defenders not as we have defenders in the attacking line before the ball even reaches the SH. Allow the ball to be trapped at the base of the scrum/LF for 5 seconds max which then negates the ridiculous if the ball is past the 2nd rowers feet it is out rule which is bollox!

| I'd get rid, but I don't like the way the poll was being conducted on Sky. It was ridiculous.
"Should we keep scrums? Vote now. I think they're ridiculous myself."
What's the point in finding out what people think if you're trying to influence their answer?!

| I'd keep scrums, make them contested and also while we are at it, make the rule that the first 6 who form the scrum have to remain in the scrum.
I have many friends who are union fans. They try to embrace RL but no matter how good a game they always mention our scrums. It really takes the shine off what should be a great spectacle for neutral watchers.
Make them contested, make the scrum half feed the ball into the middle of the two packs and make a hooker into a proper specilist role.
Somebody mentioned that we would go back to plodding props. Is that such a bad thing? There was often no finer sight than a scrum half making a tired prop look an idiot as he produced the try of the match. All we see now is fresh muscle bound forwards making big impacts for 20 minutes and then being replaced by similar, in a sanatised version of a once great sport.

They did. They pushed us backwards on our own feed.

| Can't really understand the point that 'plodding props' would return if scrums were contested. Why would they ?
Keep the scrums and make them more interesting.

| Contested scrums wont come back, the reason they were scrapped was due to back injuries. Also I remember the tedium of scrums collapsing, not set, feeding, and constsnt penalties the game was slow and boring, might as well watch union if they go back to that.
I agree with the deadball line thing being scrapped, that just penalises good kicks, what was wrong with the rule that if it was on the full the a foot over killed the ball but not a bouncing ball.

Not quite, the Cas pack did an old fashioned shove as the ball went in and Danny Houghton knocked on as the hull packed were shoved into him.

it'd slow the rugby down, hence allowing the slower players a greater chance in the top flight. If I wanted to watch a long dragged out slow game, I'd watch the ra ra boys.
