| Apparently linked with a move back to us, OOC end of the season.
He's 32, won 3 CCs at Warrington and still looks the real deal as an impact prop, thought he was very effective on Friday. Given limited other options, would be a good replacement for Moa (not replaced yet) with Ogre retiring IMO. Clubs like Leeds and Wire certainly not put off by retaining players this age and over.
Reservations would be circumstances of leaving and messing us about, although it's a few years ago under a different ownership and coaching regime, and personal issues were cited at the time. Biggest one for me would be injury record. That said he's played 14 this year.
On balance, I'd take him. But it's Nosey Parker, so unlikely to have any substance. Although he was having a laugh with our players at the end..

| Was their best forward on Friday by far. Don't know what I'd think to taking him back though.

| I was told wire were one of the teams chasing paea but he seems to indicate in the HDM he'll be going back to the NRL next year. I don't think carvel will be good value in 2 years time

How many games has he missed for the last couple of years for Warrington?
Carvell or Paea would be very good signings IMO.

| I agree with Chris 12 months intially would what i would offer him, but doubt he would come for that.
On another note, I've just seen that Scott Taylor played for Leigh on DR this weekend, maybe Scott has made a bit of a mistake signing for Wigan.

| I think his very best days are behind him but he showed on Friday how much of a handful he can be. Just worry about his injury record with him getting older, i'd probably have him for a year to replace Ogre but would worry about any longer than that.

| Not for me, too old and too injury prone these days
You can see why Wire would let him go with that young prop who played Fridayi, he is huge

| Not for me. We need to break this habit of taking on players who are surplus to requirement a top 4 clubs (who then go on and replace with younger/better players). We need to be in the market with those clubs for the players they want.

| In any squad you have to have a balance of young and old. Carvell would be a good signing to replace Ogre. You just cant have a squad of young players. People keep saying props don't normally mature until their late 20's early 30's.

| Not sure about whether I'd like to see him back. If it does come off I'd like to see a one year deal with an option on a second.

In this market, somebody will offer him better than that, closer to where he is.
With so many of the high end safe bets heading to the NRL, gambles on the fitness of veterans or progress of kids will make up a big part of every club's recruitment. There's no point judging signings by the standards of a few years ago. Shakes things up a bit, at least.
