i know a lot on here dont rate him, and i must say at times i expect more, when dobson made that break for rovers it was westermans missed tackle,i was ranting at the telly about him, but on watching the match again today you tend to pick up more on tackles made and little things, i must say westerman tackled his heart out and made good yardage, he tried to run out wide and provide a link but it didnt come off, also he was very vocal, i think he can still turn out to be a very player for us,

He did miss a couple of tackles when Rovers had their best spell but like a few others he looked shattered at the time. Got his second wind and finished strongly.
But he certainly seems very passionate for the B&W cause and gives it everything.

Think so, Sky are very tardy with their interchange graphics but I don't remember him being mentioned.

Agreed he is better out wide.

Dobson waltzed round him twice and it wasn't in the last 10 mins ! I watched the game twice and Westerman was worse than Danny Ward at Cardiff , at least Ward got a hand on Cooke whereas Joe didn't even reach for Dobson on both occasions. Worrying for me as when I coached that meant a bit of laziness.

He lacks mental toughness for me, switches off easily and gives away schoolboy penalties. He can be very physical when needed and has all the skills, that said we need to see them more often.

His attitude seems really good, a lot more vocal this year. Just needs to improve his "at times" lazy defending.

maybe you need to watch it again, whiting was just as much to blame as westerman was when dobson broke through the second time which nearly put them in front

When the euphoria of the win has died down and you analyze the game you see the errors and the missed 1 to 1 s etc
We gave away 6 penalties in the first 20-30 mins , better teams have battered us for that

We didn't complete the first 2 sets after half time - our completion rate MUST improve and that i something you can do even if you're not winning or got injuries etc

PG must be watching the video and thinking we need to #'tidy' up all the errors if we are going to finish 5/6th and have a decent chance of winning a play off game.

Westerman's missed tackles on Dobson should and I hope will be taken up in his 1 to 1 with PG as an obv example of where to improve.

Agar didn't have 1 to 1s so players could get away with those 'at times' lazy errors

Westerman had one good season when he first came on the scene and has been ordinary ever since. Not a bad player, but not a particularly good one either. Wouldn't be sorry to see him go elsewhere.

Get him out wide and get our back row rotating doing 60 mins each.

Then we'll see the best of him.

I'd prefer to see a team full of robots myself that make no mistakes in defence and only ever do brilliant things in attack. Of course they'd have to be playing against teams that never did anything inventive in attack. That Dobsom is so predictable I can't imagine how he even gets a spot in any superleague team.
