I have heard we have signed Brett Waller from Doncaster on a 2 year deal. Noticed a few other posters made the same statement on another thread so wondered if it deserved its own thread.

Haven't seen the club announce it (unless I was under a rock that day).

Anybody heard anything or know anything about him other than what is on Wiki?

Ex Skirlaugh, York and Gateshead player, 25 years old, 6 ft 5in and just over 20 stone.

25 is quite old to be getting a shot at SL - other props like Hill and Walmsley have come a lot younger and seemed to be getting better reviews, i dont think i have heard anyything about him - saying that, if he can run and tackle his size/weight then he could be quite a prop!

If Hull KR were signing him they'd be a barrage of abuse from our side taking the p1$$ put it that way. I'd be suprised if we sign him although he'd likely to be very cheap so guess if Gentle sees something in him then might be worth a punt but having seen him play amateur locally I wouldn't say he's gonna be a world beater.

Not rumour.-fact.
Walmsley bit younger but think hill was 24 when signed. At that size with full time training and professional nutrition n supplementation physically could be just what's needed for us!

Hill was 24 when he started the 2012 season, Warmsley 22 this season - so a little older, but still plenty of time ahead of him considering props are playing well into their mid 30's.

A big unit (as Stevo would say), and who knows what full time training & conditioning will do to improve his game.

More like 18. Don't know where they've got 20 from. Still a big lad though.

Will probably be another Lawrence pierce. I can't remember the last time a 25 year old rookie made it in SL

Pearce had no heart. Plus union player. Championship is tough stuff. Lacks finesse but tough. Add full time training supplementation, nutrition conditioning beyond what he's got then he's in with a shout. Hill been great and he was 24

I was in Widnes visiting relatives in April and went to the CC game v Donnie. so I got to see him play. As most have said he is a big guy and had a decent first half but faded badly in the second along with the rest of the team. Doesn't carry the ball with enough aggression given his size. Don't think he is good enough for you guys (or us come to that matter).

Think it maybe have been me who posted it on the thread . He his a big unit but what I've seen of him he lacks heart . Maybe full time training and a decent coach might bring the best out him . Won't be on much so if the gamble pays of bonus , if not he can go back scaffolding .

Alex Brown, oh wait a minute.

I think you're right plus I can't see anything coming of this.
