| As bad as it is, there won't have been any salford fans there and it's probably only 2-3000 less london fans than there have been salford fans at some of their home games this year. Whilst SLE are buying bradford, what are they doing to help london promote teh game in the capital?

Maybe the Olympic games stopped a lot of potential fans attending because of traffic congestion, raised prices or the fact they wanted to attend the Olympic games in the first instance.
Maybe it's about time RL became an Olympic sport, at least we would get a bronze medal.

| It's been a largely failed enterprise down there, poorly marketed too. Then again, same for the various welsh incarnations.
The Sky money is being wasted, in my opinion.

So on the basis of attendances only you want a club to relinquish their tenure in a league???
Obviously you have never looked back at the history of the game when all sorts of clubs have had poor attendances. Even the mighty Wigan not too many years ago (81 season I think) were struggling to 4-5000 through the gate in THE biggest area for RL, would you have been asking them to drop out of the league on that basis. What about FC in the 70s when our attendances were shocking and we had less than 2000 for a home game, should we have dropped out of the league we played in??
Your reasoning (or lack thereof) is an absolute fecking joke

There was at least one Salford fan there and he wanted to fight Sean Long!!

Failed in what sense, to ignite supporters to watch the pro team, I'll give you that, but in every other sense having a London pro team has being successful. Do you know the numbers of participants in RL as a whole in the South/South East region compared to 20-15-10. even 5 years ago???
I've watched the development of RL here in the South/London for quite a few years and now even my (adopted) home town has a RL team in one of the strongest union areas. They are in the lowest leagues possible BUT they get a spread in the local rag. This isn't just ex-pats these are lads who are wanting to play RL from a young age and want something to aim for. Having a pro team in London and the spreading of the game at the higher amateur levels has been a (part) catalyst for that.
So if you feel that RL is a failure in the capital/South, then you're wrong on pretty much every count.

| I see your point, but as a team in the highest league in this hemisphere, that attendance was nothing short of an embarrassment.
Since the days of Fulham and even Kent Invicta, I've been going to the capital for FC games. In all the years, we have outnumbered the home fans easily. There was a brief flurry of action down there when Branson took over the Bronco's and led them out at a CC final, but that's it really. I'd sooner give the London Sky money to a NL1 team and see them use it for grass roots.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

| It will be more embarrassing if they fold and our next tv deal drops even though viewing figures have risen 45%.

Sorry EY it was London - I suspect Branson does not even know where Sheffield is.
