| Thought I would start this as it is Wednesday and me and the missus are going to the game later. It's at the Etihad and holds about 65,000 I reckon but not sure it's sold out. Storm can barely get a crowd in this Aussie Rules mad city.
A mid table game at the MCG the other day got 80,000 there (2nd v 12th)
Anyway I do my best to try and convert (sic) these aussies to The Greatest Game
Cameron Smith fit despite a flu going round , I feel pretty average today with it ! Gallen is supposed to be fit for the Blues
20c here today , great for a late autumn day and 12c for ko and dry they say. Was 3c the other morning and that was COLD

| It holds just short of 54,000 and sold out a bit ago.
Melbourne Storm have lost fans to Union, the salary cap cheating came at the wrong time to say the least. Their still averaging around 15,000, more than some Sydney clubs.
Collingwood are the best supported club in Australia and Afl has tremendous membership and attendances.

Collingwood are a 'Man Utd' type of Club here with a membership of nearly 150,000 fans. My team , Richmond Tigers , are useless and haven't won anything since 1972 approx , they have a membership of about 45,000 fans and they are fanatical. Outside of Australia I don't think anyone grasps how fanatical Melbournians in general are about their AFL.
I would say they are easily more obsessed than FC or KR fans are and I consider myself a bit fanatical about FC. Women and children are sometimes the worst here as well. AFL can be a bit boring to watch but I can't knock it's appeal.
Only 5 hours to ko now and going for a good slurp pre ko in one of the city centre's fine hostilieries

| My main concern for Queensland is Big Petero think it could prove to be 1 series too far for him.

| Can't wait, first time in years I've been able to watch it live on TV, normally working at this time. Not really paid much attention to the NRL in the past few years. Who's likely to have a big game? Have Blues got any chance in hell?
Got a couple quid on Hayne 1st Try Scorer 10/1.

Nsw have gone for a fast mobile side, which could, and probably will, mean Qld will steam roller them.
Haynes not a bad bet tbh, especially with nsw looking to spread the ball.

The fact that Hayne's in the Blues team at all given his form the last 18 months tells you everything you need to know about the problems the Blues have.

| If Qld win by a decent score , Then it could get embarrassing for NSW in the other two games .

Game 2 will be the closest regardless of tonight's score.

| Bomber on the Sky sofa. I was having the crack with him in the Gills ticket office about 90 mins before ko. He was in good form....'Queenslanders' replaced by 'Arty'. Think it'll be closer than people think.
