Have to say that I had become so negative and cynical about the team, that I thought the HDM columnist who wrote 'beat Saints on Friday and Hull can push for a top 2 spot' was crazy or had been taking illegal substances.

Tonight's game was a turning point of the season, before I'd have been happy with a 6-8th finish and a decent display in the playoff game.

now I honestly believe we can cement a top 4 slot, maybe even top2.

the 2nd half was the most committed and passionate 40mins I've seen from both the players and the fans for several years. The KC hasn't been so noisy since the Bradford playoff win in 2006.

a big welcome back to the real 'spirit' of HullFC, its been a long and miserable couple of years without you!

We said the same at the game. Awesome atmosphere.

A top four spot is in our own hands.

Truly awesome atmosphere! And you could see the players were absolutely buzzing off us at the end of the game, Fitzy was like the cheshire cat!

Top 4 in our hands, higher if we keep plays like that second half.

EPIC!

What we saw tonight was commitment we haven't seen for the past two and a half years, the team seemed to want to go the distance for eachother and the fans, superb a014.gif

That was a big game, and we knew how to win it. Can't ask for more than that, it's what we've been crying out for for long enough.

Mr Agar - whatever you said at half-time was spot on, fair play to you. eusa_clap.gif

Mr Agar - whatever you said at half-time was spot on, fair play to you. According to his post-match interview he didn't have to say much. Sounds like they all had the confidence that they weren't doing much wrong and if they continued with the plan the tries would follow. Good on them and credit to all involved with tonight's win.

To do the double over Saints is an amazing achievement. It gives us all hope for the playoffs.

Yeah, I heard him say it was just a matter of reiterating that they could still get back into it. However he said it though, it hit home, as I thought heads dropped during Saints' 1st half spell, but even when they scored first in the 2nd half we still looked like we believed.

not saying agar has no credit for the second half display but i think fitzy rollocking the team after saints pish easy walkover of a try straight after half time and ogre's flattening of roby with a great ball carry had a lot to do with it.

I wasn't trying to edit out Agar's contribution, just indicate that it seemed more like a collective will to win rather than a coach having to give his side a rollacking to gee them up.

Oh no, I get what you were saying. In fact I doubt from what he said that he did give them rollicking, sounded more like a metaphorical arm around the shoulder to galvanise belief. Whatever, there's definitely been more belief in the squad since the Murrayfield debacle, which points to some good man-management somewhere along the way.
