How disppointing is that for the club to lose such a young talent especially when his two big brothers are on our books.
I think the fact that we have been so reluctant to give youth a chance must have been a major contributing factor.

Gutted to lose him, think AP will ensure that the youngsters are looked after better in the future.

Bit dramatic that isn't it? Sure he's a good prospect, but its hardly like he was going to single handedly win us super league.
Crooks would have been a bigger loss.

Indeed, if losing Luke makes the root and branch review of youth policy and urgent priority for McRae then at least some good will come out of it.

But, if he is under contract at the moment, then how can L**ds, or anyone else, approach him?

The fact that our youth system seems to have all but dried up should have prompted that, Briscoe aside.

Don't get me wrong I don't need to be put on suicide watch, I just don't like to see our best young prospect opting to go to one of our rivals as they are seen as a better option,. Over the past few years we have seen a lack of talented young players breaking through so to see one decide to go before given a chance is dissapointing.

Hopefully as others have said the new board may look at this now and decide on a better way to handle our young players as I really do believe the fact nobody from the academy has been given a chance over the last 12 months will have played a part in his decision.

I think it was already a known issue, but Rule has said that McRae is going to take steps to make sure "it never happens again"

anyway, he's gone, nothing we can do about it now.

Saw him play for the u-20s after being promoted from the u-18s and he had a good game but there was other players on view who was better.Dont forget,we also have Danny Nicklas back for next season as well.Briscoe is a good prospect but if we had lost Crooks or Nicklas,they would have been bigger losses.

Something iffy gone on here...he was in talks with us then legs it once Leeds comes in...shows you where his loyallty lies then doesnt it.

One thing Mcrae did during his first term at the club was sort out the youth policy which I'm sure he will do again.
As for this false loyalty to Agar if the players can't see the club is being revitalised under AP and if they don't share his vision, then your welcome to leave.

Over hyped due to his surname and fast tracked too early in his career.
