Big game for both clubs, and if the reserve fixtures are correct, double header, a chance for the travelling ull fans to watch the reserves as well.

The season isn’t on the line but it’s very close with this game
For a team that wants to get to the GF then you don’t lose these matches

We simply aren't good enough or consistent enough to get anywhere near a grand final im afraid

we are not good enough or consistant enough to be tabletoppers I ll grant you,but to win the grand final you have to be good at knockout rugby, hull on the whole are good as most at knockout rugby.also the team who win the gf ,like the challenge cup are not always the best team.so we have a good chance if we make the 5

must win if we want second! austin missing for wire is a big blow for them with them playing saints and wigan next. wigan my favourites for 2nd now, so need to be on it from the start as i expect wakey to come out firing!

must win game for me if we want to keep wigan at arms length. they've (wakey) been below average recently and we should be more than capable of getting a result, given how we have fronted up to 2 of the divisions best teams in the last couple of weeks. however they'll be targetting all their home games for points as they battle possible relegation so it won't be easy.

on the plus side, win and we could go level on points with warrington with their distracting games around cup final time ahead

Prior to the start of the season I'd have agreed with you.
However given how much we've improved from the back end of last season and how poorly other teams have performed I believe we have a good chance now.
Saints are head and shoulders above all others. Them aside we can beat anyone. Finish 2nd and we get two chances, both at home if we win the first.
Obviously we have to win most of the remaining games (think we can afford to lose to Saints) but its wide open.

Surely we can beat Wakey
As I said if we want to get to the GF and maybe even win then this is exactly the match you would have to win

Lose - it’s simply proof that we won’t make the GF in my opinion
These are crunch games v poorer teams

Here's the rub - by Sunday we will know if Wire have lost and if Wigan beat the filth. Cats may or may not have beaten Leeds.

On Sunday it may be glaringly obvious we NEED to win and how great it would be if we win. We could go joint 2nd and keep Wigan 2 points behind.

We've just lost Kelly again and have a raft of forwards out whereas Wakefield have strengthened. I think we are up against it vs a team in a fight for their lives.

This is bonkers Grand Final talk. Most pundits (not HDM) had us down as 8th or 9th. Let's try and make the play offs first. icon_lol.gif

Not sure about that, we have brought in a full back who is no better than the two we have already, the other one (Green) isn't allowed to play against you, so I'm not so sure where we have strengthened really, as for being in a fight for their lives, on the past couple of months' games you wouldn't believe it.

Ignore it mate.

She always plays down our chances, highlights injuries, form and now even predictions it would seem, coupled with bigging up the opposition to try and make excuses for a Hull loss, in order to defend, protect the Hull coach and team. It's her thing.

No offence intended to you though Mrs. Barista. Just putting it into context.

I'm light of form, league placings and squad available this should be a victory for us. Especially if we are to mount a serious GF assault.
The result at Wakey last year should be enough of a motivation alone for a win Sunday.

I'll be there regardless anyway.

If we are serious about reaching the GF let alone having a chance of winning it then games like Sunday against Wakefield are games we should be winning. Yes we've lost Kelly and possibly Bowden and Paea but that is no excuse for us to lose. Wakey are in dire straights in an alarming free fall and look absolutely awful from the team they were earlier in the season.

We have more than enough in the playing squad to get a win and I don't mean any disrepect to Wakey as they are a decent team but right now they are struggling big time. As long as the player stick to the game plan, cut out the penalties, dumb plays and make sure they can keep hold of the ball we should win this game by at least 2 scores.

It would be the first time we do that for a while!
