| its been a long time that Horne has had a positive nor consistent half back partner. but back in the day he proved himself to be an international running back. do you think he could rediscover his form along side Holdsworth or has it been too long since the Horne and Cooke days? and has too much water passed under the bridge? (re. diabetes, neck injury ect)

| I don't think he can regain consistent form he lost that a few seasons ago, however I think he could make a great bench player, bags of experience and I think he has the ability to steady the ship on the pitch when we need it, he is fairly versatile and can cover various roles on the pitch if need be.

| If we have a fully fit team and Seymour can start to produce some sort of form then I don't think we'll see much of him tbh .

Isn't the rumour that he's ahead of Seymour in Gentle's eyes?
It's funny how the coaches we have had seem to rate Horne when many on here have seen him for several years as a has-been.

| I'd put Horne in front of Seymour tbh. I hope Seymour does prove us all wrong but I don't think he will.
I do hope I'm wrong by the way & he has a great year but I just don't think he's up to it

| Horne, although an outstanding talent in his day somehow failed to go that little bit further and become truly great player. It seems to me that he never had the freedom that other great backs recieve off their respective partners on the field, if you know what I mean. A fully fit Seymour has a lot to prove to most fans of our club this season. I see him for what he is, a solid no frills halfback in either scrumhalf or offhalf berth. A true workhorse that was starved of surrounding talent and consistency last season. I believe that we will see the best of Seymour this year. We now have options in the backs, rotation during the games and we can try different sets of plays from all over the pitch. We shall see.

| The guy is a legend of the club, but look how much strapping he plays with now. He's battered. If he runs out at the KC today strapping free then he may well regain some form with a steady partner in crime. Will he be strapping free? Sadly I doubt it. Bench player for me, which is no bad thing. Your team on the day is only as strong as your bench and with Horne ready to do 40 - 60 mins a game we will do ok. If he has to play a full 80 week in week out then for me we have problems.
The failure to get a new half back to play alongside Holdsworth may well hamper us again this year. That said I look through the league and feel that there isn't really a stand out pairing other than veterans like at Wire and Leeds. It may well be the Witt Gower and Dorn spine at London may well be the one to set the league alight.

| The only time Horne should be in the team is for injuries or cup games....been a outstanding servant to the club but his form only warrants a squad place.

| The only coach that's rated Horne above what the fans have was Agar. Horne was still a very good player prior to his neck injury in 2008.

| PG is playing separate teams each half today, be interesting to see if its 1st and 2nd team and if so which one Horney plays in.
Can't understand the lack of love for Horney, model pro and always gives everything, its not his fault he isnt Rangi Chase or Scott Dureau.

People are just saying that his form had dipped and doesnt warrant a starting place, being a model pro and gives everything doesnt warrant a team in the team.

I don't think he will be in the 17 without injuries but it shows we have strength in depth with him in the squad.
We might get a view into PG's thinking today.

imo, apart from Holdsworth he was the best of the halves. Another try off one of his kicks iirc.
I actually thought that Seymour looked a lot better today than last year considering where we are with regard to the new season - his kicks were much better which you'd expect if his leg bends in the middle now. I think it's only fair to give players time when they've been playing long term with an injury. We might see a bettter player this year if he can make it past Horne [iet al[/i.
