| Just got home from Wembley. It was a quiet car on the way back.
I have just looked on here and seen some extreme threads, one even calling for Gentles head on the back of today and someone questioning if Holdswrth has ever had a good game (guess they missed the semi final)
The rain contributed to the knockonathon, but lets face it. We blew it. On 7 separate occasions I counted Hull lose possession on either the first or second tackle whilst in the Wigan half. We had position but blew it.
We lacked any sort of composure and ended up panicking. The very first set, after the penalty from the kick off, we didn't threaten their defence and ended up softly handing over the ball near the Wigan line. They then had the ballmformthe next 6 minutes forcing 2drip outs.
Another example was Millers wild pass in the direction of Yeaman which was never going to be caught. Why panick like this in the first half?
I cannot blame Gentle for our loss or the spilled possession. But I think we saw the difference between big game players and our lot today.
If anything, I think Gentle should have played the conditions better by opting to kick at goal rather than run the ball. The penalty Pitts earned 10 from the posts in the first half and another kick able penalty with 20 mins left would at least have left us within 6 points.

| You used the word panic and that's what I came away think we looked like we panicked all game, maybe the occasion got to them a bit. I think the real turning point in the game was josh chardley's chase back to catch Jamie and not just happy making the tackle but going for the ball (but I did feel like it was a knock on from him and thought we should of had a scrum). If he had gone over there think we would of gone on to win cos once we scored one think there would of been less panic on are part.

| We was always chasing the game due to not respecting the ball.
We should have took the two after half time.
Being niled always adds more pressure on you to avoid embarrassment.
Wigan played the conditions better, basic safe rugby.
Now is the coach to blame for today's performance absolutely not.
His one mistake today was playing crooks he wasn't ready.
The kids before the main match handled the ball better than we did.
Poor game and an even worse advert for the game.

| Just think we lack imagination and creativity .
It's plagued us all season and it resurfaced again today.
Make no mistake, Wigan were there for the taking. They were average.
The Challenge Cup has masked our problems this year and today they came out again.
I can't see Pearson being happy just to reach a final and blowing like we did.
Pressure back on Gentle I reckon.

I am not going to knock Shaul. He is young wi a great future ahead of him. The coach needs to tell him when he breaks through as he did, to be aware of what's following him, be it a defender or a support player. Charnley has done the "knock the ball out in the tackle" think several time before. If you know it's coming you can do some thing about it.

| I'm sure we will get severely exposed in the play offs as well and show that we are not as good or nearly as good as some fans think we are. Very disappointed today and let's be honest Wigan were poor today. Same old crap, just a different day.

| We've had the same problem in attack all season,we don't get deep enough and run good angles,We've relied on broken play.

| Agree with plenty of the above.
Wigan were pretty ordinary today and our defence was very good, but we were done over completely in attacking structure and kicking game, but most importantly completion rate. Anyone know what this was? Very disappointing effort in attack.
My main concerns right now are that we're shedding Briscoe, O'Meley, Lynch, Tickle and Galea but have only brought in Paea so far. With a shedload of floating voters disappointed today and season pass details out, I'd hope we've got some announcements to make.
I do think AP will think Gentle is under pressure. If we lose the next 3 games that's it until February, with a worse league campaign than last season and season passes to shift. Challenging couple of weeks coming up.

| I don't blame gentle for today specifically but I do think he is to blame for our continued lack of intensity, poor last tackle plays, poor backing up of the ball carrier and a multitude of other basic problems that plague our team. We must be the worst team in SL with the ball in the opposition 20
All we needed to do today was to respect possession, kick well and tackle well but unfortunately could only manage one of those.
I'm really ambivalent about gentle now and I don't see him as the man to take us to the next level

It was down to 50% around the 60 min mark.
I'm not to fussed that Lynch, Tickle and Galea are leaving tbh.

| Hugely disappointing that all our frailties in attack came home to roost in the most important game of the season (or for five seasons, I suppose).
The handling was atrocious and the kicking game was plain awful. The latter we cannot blame the conditions for.
Agree with Jake about Gentle. Still a lot to prove and not much time to do so. He needs a very good start to next season.

I think Lynch will be missed, arguably Green moves up to fill his boots. We'll miss Tickle's goal-kicking but we do have a pipeline of forwards. Maybe Whiting will get the 12 shirt next year. I hope we see good value for what should be a good wedge freed up, assuming Paea and Ogre play a draw salary wise.

Thing is, we're not good enough this season so we need to be replacing the departing players with better quality but there's been no evidence we're doing itt. Let's hope they have a couple of top quality signings up their sleeves or we may struggle to make the 8 next season as rovers, saints and Salford will all improve
