| so with 10 games to go we are here, the business end of the season that everyone bangs on about. you know the one, the time when teams say they will up their game and aim to peak at the right time to secure a play off berth and then beyond. and lets face it, if ever a team needs to up its game its us. so will we do it? well we have an equal split of home and away games again after our recent travels so that might help. the bad news is that we have to get at least 6 wins, so at some point in the very near future we will need to find more consistent form (only 7 wins from 16 so far). looking at the games i see it panning out like so
wakey win
wire loss
salford loss (they could have locke playing for them by then which will give them a boost, and they are very much in the same boat as us)
wigan loss
cas win (cup semi now their main target)
saints loss
bulls win
kr win
hudds loss
rhinos loss
so that's only 4 from 10, nowhere near enough, and the points return of 22 would equate to more or less a continuation of our season's form so far. so in order to get in the 8 we have to beat a couple of the so called bigger teams (warrington and saints look most likely as we are a home and they have both shown patchy form so far), whilst avoiding notable pitfalls (rovers and cas both look dodgy). so far this season we haven't beaten any of the big teams (except hudds if you class them as a big team). we need to do this to make the 8, and even then it will be hard.
sadly my prediction is 22 points and 9th or 10th

I think we could compete in them wherever we finish. We ain't going to win, and never was even if we'd had a decent season. But we'll compete against the likes of Warrington/Cas/Hudds/Cat and possibly Saints, but not so much against Leeds or Wigan.

Cant argue with that summary which means we'll have gone backwards under Radford

cartoons/WB17.gif I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.
Money doesn't talk it swears, Obscenity who really cares, Propaganda all is phony.
I'm the son and heir of a shyness which is criminally vulgar.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way.

| Would like to say yes, but don't really believe we will.
As the OP says, we probably need another 6 wins (possibly 7) and given our remaining fixtures there needs to be a significant upturn in our consistancy in order to achieve that. Quite frankly, 6/7 wins from 10 looks beyond the 2014 team, especially given our propensity to throw in a horror show when we least expect it (ala Widnes/Wakefield earlier in the year).
The current top six look set for the play-offs already, which only leaves two further spots. Catalans look a reasonable bet from fortress Perpignan, even with their ongoing bouts of travel sickness, which only leaves one remaining spot. My guess would be for our nearest & dearest to overtake a fading Widnes side to finish 8th.
I would just like to see some signs in these last ten games of some potential progress in order to fill me with some hope that maybe better days do lie ahead, but I'm not holding my breath on that score either.
Too much damage was done in March/April/May and I think we've left ourselves with too much to do to rescue this season as anything worthwhile.

| Three more wins imo , We just don't create enough to trouble a decent team and we still make even harder for ourselves with the errors we still come up with .

| Don't think we will do it, tenth for me at best but do hope I'm wrong. Game against Wakefield taken on even more importance after their cracking win today.

Wakefield, like every team in Superleague (apart from London that is), are capable of a good result on any given day. They played a young Wigan team today, but regardless of who Wigan had out it's still a really strong result. However, on the other hand, let's not forget that they very nearly got turned over by London the week before.
We will have to play well and not take them for granted, but it's a game we should win 9 times out of 10 imo.
As for the playoffs. I really don't know. We are capable of picking up the wins we need, but we've flattered to deceive too often this year for me to have any real confidence.
Widnes, imo, are gone. They have punched above their weight all season and are starting to slide now. Throw in a semi final to attract their attention and I would be surprised if they win any more than 3 league more league games. I wouldn't really like to call it between us and Rovers. The derby is a crucial game.

| Even if we scrape into 8th it will just mean that a miserable season drags on for another week.

+ Wigan only played on Wednesday night, 3 games in 7 days is no good no matter how big your squad is.
