| Who should be in super league? do you think london & catalan should be still in the the top league? i was sat talking to a mate at KC on fri night about what catalans & london actually fetch to an away game fan wise because to me this surely cannot be good for the game as a whole, but financially this is very poor for the game, i have said before on VT that rugby should be kept to the M62 corridor/cumbria area, the game makes nothing as it is so are the RFL worrying about the wrong areas? if people think bringing the french on is good? is it really helping the british game? & all the years the RFL have tried to kick it off in the capital, what has it achieved? they have been given the wooden spoon before a balls been passed...your thoughts?

| If your relying on away supporters, your not in a position to moan about teams who don't bring away supporters!
The teams that finish 12th and above should be in super league, regardless of where they are based.

| Bit unfair to slate Catalan fans! Could you afford to travel abroad 14 times a year?

But at home London are poor, ive seen more at a East Hull v Skirlaugh game then London v Salford in the past.

| The best teams should be in superleague. The ones who finsih bottom should get relegated. Then the teams that go down should have a chance to come back up.
Catalans have worked very well, the game in France has benefited from the cataln team. In terms of away fans, it hasn't helped, but a strong game in France is great for superleague full stop - France has a strong league following that should be nurtured.
London hasn't worked for a million reasons. They've moved more times than I have, they've been at Fulham, Brentford, Twickenham stoop, Charlton to name a few. They've never put down roots. London is a big place. they should drop the London moniker and rename as Barnet, or wherever they are now - and stay there! They'll build up a fan base, and hopefully encourage more teams in the rest of the Greater London area.
But they should have the same chance to succeed as any other team in superleague.

Well we had a system of selecting teams for the top league based on business acumen and more than just on the pitch result. People whinged and moaned it wasn't meritocratic - it can't be both ways.
If a team has little or no support, but can still put together a team that can compete on the highest level, great. If they go bust in the process they get relegated never to be seen again. Teams with the most support will alway rise to the top, with more money coming in.

Yeah i dont mean to slate no one, & no i dont suppose i can travel 14 times, but when leeds travel to kr there fans are paying on the gate, when saints go to wire there fans are paying on the gate, what is catalans contribution away from home? im only getting at fans want increased salary caps to keep players in our game or pay a decent wage to stop stars leaving surely 1500-3000 halifax fans would have been better at KC fri night then zero catalan fans? only using halifax as names sake.

But how is helping france improve helping us? are australia willing to help us improve? as for london moving to barnet & building fan base is it really going to work? it is football down there not RL.

| It's very shortsighted to use the number of away fans as a yardstick for a teams value to the competition. Hull fans always travel well, and that's something we should rightly be proud of, but it's largely insignificant when you look at the wider picture.
What effect does their involvement have on tv figures?
Are sponsors more inclined to get involved on the sport because they are able to reach a wider audience?
How much work do they do in their communities to spread the game and develop players?
Is the game more entertaining because of them (and as a knock in effect see points 1 and 2)?
In Catalans case how much does having them in Superleague benefit the French national team and international RL as a whole?
I don't know the answers to all of those questions, but those things are far more important than getting a few hundred more on our attendance once or twice per season.

Playing your bitter inner city rivals is the only way you would get 3000 fans to travel to the KC on a Friday night.
Saturday & Sunday games are different but you was under the impression that a team like Halifax was going to bring twice the amount that they get for a home fixture!

Yes but i was meaning a SL crowd from fax there gates would be up if they was in the top flight as would fevs, we was talking to there fans at Whitings testimonial, these are giant clubs what i think deserve a bash at the big time with actual fans that go to home games & away games spending money on tickets, kits, food & drink, fuel its all good for the game & the economy. imo.
