Why do our halfbacks do too much work in defence it never changes no wonder we are poor near the opposition line

To stop the opposition scoring more tries ?

Still early days, these 2 have hardly played together, I will start to judge after the next half a dozen games...

Second rows and centres defend for the halfbacks, so leave your daft comments at home

Do they?

So half backs don't have to defend?

They defended so much because Leeds attacked them to tire them out.

Maybe a shock for you mate but we ain't playing American Football, in rugby we play 13 defenders and 13 attackers

Thank feck we don't play with 11 defenders cos we would get cricket scores against us...

Look at what I've wrote, if you are stood in between to your winger and centre the chances are your second row/ centre will make the tackle before you have to get involved

Holdsworth and Prince would have been a handy combo. Having multiple average partners for Holdsworth is neither use nor ornament. Bring back McGoldrick and his menace/pace/dodginess.

The OP has a point - Seymour did a stack of defending first half and gradually got worse second half as he tired. Well done to Leeds for that. Where were our second rowers running hard strong and straight at their halves ? We ran some terrible plays especially when Houghton was on and Leeds' halves didn't have anything like the work to do as ours.

Really disappointed with the lack of aggression and vigour from us with or without the ball. Gentle talks about us not 'gelling' yet but the above mentioned attributes don't really rely on that. We look small and slow up front and Leeds were always going to get on top as the game wore on - they deserved that right because they ran harder and faster particularly off their defensive line. I don't see why we can't match that 'gelled' or not.

Our back row played nearly, if not all, the full game.

It was rotation madness.

He missed more than he made and his attempt on Ryan Hall when he scored was embarrassing.
