Revisiting old discussions here but very relevant after last week.
Just sat and had lunch with 7 guys in the warehouse (all FC fans X4 season holders too) and every single one of them didnt rate Hall at all and saw Centre as the place we most now need to strengthen, and all thought Yeaman has not apart from one match this year shown anything different to last year!
so I ask a question or two of the bretheren on B&Ws

C Hall
1, has he improved as a player
2, has his tackling improved at all.
3, do we HONESTLY ever see him ever being a shoe in on the team sheet !
4, I know he is still young but he has a lump of experience now and as such would you honestly keep him when out of contract next ??

K Yeaman
1, has he improved as a player from last three seasons
2, has his overall game improved.
3, do we ever see him ever being back to the player who played for GB?
4, would you honestly keep him when out of contract next ??

or do we need in all honesty two decent centres???

please note no where here have I been derogatory to them , just asking your thoughts

imo i would start to play young briscoe in the centre next year or if not sooner, get a winger for next year, and let yeaman and hall fight out the other centre spot

Ive only attened home games this year and hall has impressed me so far and personally i think he has improved massively, although his defence definatly still needs to improve, i can see your point but in my opinion we only need one, if any, because briscoe is surely a definite centre for the future

Now you have read my mind completely there!! OR as one co worker said, let em both go as neither will be a threat playing for anyone else and use both salaries to tempt a proven centre here not two maybes!!
and lets face it Hall and yeaman have a ton of "well maybe" about them dont they

you know I have always like Hall too but the facts are that especially against Wigan they were clearly directing trafic at him and you could see he was so uncomfortable by looking at his face , he was dragged all over the place and sucked in trying to intercept all the time, not a winger i agree however he should know what to do and not what to do...
thus far we have proved hes not a full back, hes not a winger, ell his defence at centre is the worst in SL so his options are getting limited

absolutely got to be given a try at some point as the current situation is being exposed isnt it, you know Lynne is possibly one of the fastest kids i have ever seen, seems really confident so is it time to play specialist wingers in wing positions and stop trying to fill square holes with round pegs IE Hall on the wing

Thats bollox . He's not even in the list of most missed tackles !. Stats have him down as 11 so far this season. Welham or Clubb on the other hand have missed twice as many tackles.

Not even close.

And I'm not Yeaman's biggest fan by a long chalk but I don't see what he's been doing wrong so far this season. An improvement over the last three in most aspects of his game as well.

Seems a tad unfair to start a thread criticising two centres after a game where one was playing on the wing and both were, by all accounts, hung out to dry in defence.

11 misses, possibly most resulting in trys against thats the difference...
but thanks for the balanced view stat geek, does flapping at tackles like mincer constitue a stat also, is there a stat for being pulled out of position four times in one match or for the intercepts missed icon_rolleyes.gif

Yeamo's performances are linked to how the team performs as he like most players is only as good as his service (he used to get 3 or 4 quality flat passes a game off Cooke he's lucky if hes had 4 a season since he left) but Yeamo has still managed to score 12ish tries a season and it would not take to much to get back to where he was imo. Surely now its the time to say go on Craig make the spot yours and give him a run of games to see what he's got for me his deffence has improved out of sight and he's our most potent attacking wepon 4 tries in 6 this year out of possition he has the x factor coaches talk about but he does need a little bit of looking after
