Really enjoyed the match
Fev really got stuck in

It’s nearly a home game for me now

15 hour direct flight to Vancouver
3 hour internal hop to Toronto

Been there before - my sister lived there for 2 years
on Yonge St - I think it’s the longest street in the World

Lord Nelson pub on there was a great 10 hour beer session

CN tower something else

So Super League sees London Relegated and Toronto
replace them

Yet it was nearly Hull KR relegated and Featherstone replace them

Lol. Cosmopolitan indeed

Can’t wait for the fixtures to come out and get the trip booked. Love Toronto it’s a great city, look forward to breakfasts at Marche.

Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?:

Unless it's an "on the road game". Home games in first couple of months of the season are to be played somewhere else, until the weather improves. So much for being a rugby league supporter.

Well it won't suit everyone and plenty are grumbling already, and I take on board the fixture stuff as well however they certainly know what they are doing media wise.

"In a major market that is home to over six million residents in the Greater Toronto Area and five much-loved major professional sports teams, the Wolfpack have still managed to receive over 700 million total media impressions in 2019. The Betfred Championship Grand Final was seen around the globe, reaching into over 500 million homes throughout major markets including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, France, Asia, India, Singapore and Hong Kong. Thanks to several exciting broadcast agreements, including with Canadian powerhouses Rogers Sportsnet and CBC, the Wolfpack are continuing to expand and the jump to Super League will serve to build their brand exponentially".

So the Betfred Championship Grand Final was watched at 500 million homes. Crikey.
I guess that's not what they're actually saying.

An amazing opportunity for super league Wilf, we have a foothold in a North American market, which could potentially bring Rugby league to millions of people, an expansionists dream, with possible untold marketing, and sponsorship deals worldwide.

And a nightmare for parochialists everywhere in Northern England, who will wonder how the xxxx we can make this work due to travelling and funding costs, it’s bad enough getting a coach to Wigan on a Thursday night icon_biggrin.gif

I’m with the former group, the adventurers, got my snow shoes ready and my Davy Crockett hat out the attic, having a brother who lives in Toronto is a big help as well.

With such poor attendances for the play-offs I think that's a totem for interest in the top tier of our sport, endless repeats of "big" games of diminishing quality between 3 teams in a very small (10 mile?) radius with the odd incursion from Leeds. Featherstone gaining promotion instead of Toronto seems to have been the better option for the sport's future for some - beggars belief. Let's try something new - worst that can happen is we learn from it.

yeah i guess it means it had the potential to be watched in those number of homes. just like having it on one bbc channel over here dosn't mean 60 million peolle are suddenly going to watch the sport

Hopefully we will get a summer fixture actually in Toronto. I can see the logistics being tricky for them early season although the Buffalo Bill's play outdoors in the winter. I wonder if they asked the Bluejays if they can use the Rogers centre for a couple of games icon_smile.gif

You watch we will probably get Rovers away on the thursday night after travelling there!

Hull will play Toronto on the road in Hong Kong, supporters are advised umbrellas, and Radders face masks will not be permitted.

Old faithful may be sang, but only if it’s the Mandarin version.

3 teams play Toronto away twice (we're not one of them), so it would make sense for one of those fixtures to be early season. Having said that, none of this makes sense.

Can you imagine the powers that be actually thinking about that?
