| Heard a rumour that Match Day Programmes are to be scrapped and replaced by a free weekly newspaper. Anyone else heard about this?

| I wouldn't be surprised. I can't see them selling many any more. They will maybe make more money by printing on lower quality paper with an advertising revenue model and giving the publication away for free

| If that is the case I expect it will be monthly myself, with the frequency of games that would be better and is the model that a few Scottish football and NFL teams use.

| A shame as buying the match day programme was once an integral part of attending games. I've got hundreds although that said I stopped buying them a couple of years ago as they appeared to be half full of general RL news and they had much less content about Hull, the players or the match taking place.

The match day programme ceased to be a Hull only publication and instead we bought into the general SL brand programme which you will find across the league at other clubs. Unfortunately, that meant that we had little input into the content, only getting a few pages that were truly ours. The rest, as you have said, were generic across the league. This way we will be reverting back to an FC only publication on a monthly basis, like Catalans have. The vast majority of fans get information on the team/club via online sources now so this makes sense.

| totally agree, it's no great loss tbh. If it (a monthly publication of some sort) lowers overall costs/improves revenue and is focused more on info about the club/players etc then why wouldn't you do it.

Haha, still have mine from the late 70s/early 80s, Dick Tingle's write ups were excellent and 'sports mail' was an absolute must especially if a cup magtch was on.

In Australia they sell a weekly Mag it comes out on a Thursday and previews every game giving teams and news, its really good I don't think they sell club programs at all at there games, think all the clubs input into this national Mag and maybe share in the profits tbh its not expensive. I think that the problem with the current programs are they have become pretty costly and people pay a lot for beer pies and other stuff when they attend a game I think the program has just become something that has been sacrificed for other things its a tradition which has been running down now for years a shame but that's the modern game maybe they could bring out something monthly or give more input to the fanzine

| To be honest I only buy one programme a year at the end of the season so I can refer back to the results etc. Gets a bit expensive when you add up all the other things you can get nowadays.

| A monthly glossy like rugby league world would be ideal but think it would probably too costly to produce ,I know Leeds united and other football teams sell em as well as programmes and they are also available at newsagents
Anyone remember Hull of a game ? I really liked it and included the amateurs as well as Hull and rovers
