His twitter account is going to be busy !!. I thought with the cap going live by the RFL, It was meant to stop teams from over spending immediately .

worst case scenario for salford is they will more than likely be confined to the middle 8s, with no automatic promotion and relegation in place it makes the point deduction a farce!

I guess the live cap can only monitor what goes through Salford's books and what's written on the contracts between the players and the Salford Club.

If (and this is pure conjecture, I have no evidence at all), players have been paid by other companies, or given other kinds of benefits from somewhere other than the club, it'd be extremely hard for a live cap to pick up there and then.

A more thorough investigation, potentially prompted by whistle-blowing or someone with common sense at the RLF (yeh, I know) thinking 'something's not right here', could lead to them uncovering the breaches.

I read that maximum penalty for this is 20 points but that seems completely daft, most teams seem to get like 4-6 so will be something like that. If found guilty of course.

but over two seasons? double the point deduction, even an 8-12 point deduction will make it hard for them to get into the top 8

I seem to remember it came out at Tony Puletua's employment tribunal that he had two contracts. One with the rugby club and one for consultancy with a company owned by Koukash. If true they deserve to have the book thrown at them.

The RFL won't want to cause much fuss, if Koucash ditches Salford they are dead and buried, a club with a small fan-base and a ground they don't own won't have many offers. Instead they'll want them to continue to progress on the field and hopefully make an impact on BBC Sports doorstep at Salford Quay's. They've already tried to bury this under the carpet.

You mean "bury it under the carpet" by charging them on two counts and putting an official statement on their website?

Koukash also insisted his actions in gifting 2015 player of the year Niall Evalds with a Maserati car were carried out within the regulations.
