| Strange set of emotions tonight, on one hand I'm delighted we came back with a great team effort to win, which got some much needed cheer and atmosphere in the stands...but on the other hand the realist in me understands it was a dead rubber for Leeds and they weren't firing on all cylinders.
We have to be one of the most frustrating sides in sport, capable of dominating a game like against Rovers and turning it on in spells like the 2nd half tonight...but the rest of time we are dire. Until we find that 3rd gear of winning a game but not going all out we won't move forward.
One area that needs to improve is our passing game, and I'd say the club needs to look at getting some specialist coaches in over the Winter. The amount of times we knock-on from a bad pass, or lose ground due to the pass hitting the floor is killing us each week.
The other thought to ponder is why when we have exciting talent like Logan & Lancaster and Ben Crooks sat in the stands are we choosing to bring over an out of favour practically unknown NRL player like Michaels? Seems a complete panic buy to me and completely at odds with the 'Club Hull' thing the club has going on.
so yes, great to hear the faithful in full voice again, and some positives to take in to pre-season...but still a long way to go before we return to the playoff places IMO

Agree about most of it but Logan wouldn't last a full season of S/L yet...just because he scored 2 try's doesn't mean he is ready, yes he can fill in but not a full season.

| Passing has been utter rubbish for years and needs sorting. Great to get the win tonight and that we actually changed the attack mid game and stopped trying to run around them and became much more direct. Certainly paid off

Dreadful first half from both teams. It felt more like a pre-season game. Cracking comeback though. You can say Leeds had nothing to play for but they are still a good team and were pretty much full strength.
As for Michaels, it's foolish to label him a panic buy given that many people said similar about Fetuli Talanoa who has been a shining light for us in 2014.

| Really pleased to see home form improve in the last 4 games of the season. Much to work on but we'll be better next season with better distributors. Credit to Radford for turning the home performances round but needs to make sure that the new halves play in better structures. FWIW I think they will bring better skills to the table which will help.

| some encouraging signs from the last 5 home games but need to raise the level of away performances. we are not smart enough in attack and need to learn to build pressure and not panic when in the opposition red zone. i'm happy enough our attack will improve next season with the new halves.
another positive is that despite finishing 10th or 11th, our points difference is well in the black due to all the close games. i know its ifs and buts, if we had reversed 3 or 4 of these we would have finished in the playoffs.
i'm happier than i was 2 months ago but there is work to be done - lots

| Its the togetherness and team spirit which has given me hope from the last few games, smiles on faces and interaction with the crowd. It actually feels like they want to win and play for us.
Whether the lack of pressure has helped this or long look in the mirror about there previous performances has spurred it on but we seem to be playing as one. Rather then a few people just having a go.

| Handling again , Totally shocking in dry conditions . Just not good enough if we want to be a top side . I don't know how we won that one in the second half .

Totally agree..
Personally,I dont feel the Coaching team devote sufficient time to improving 'catch and pass'., judging by
the constant slow ,inaccurate and dropped passes.- week in ..week out.
Throughout Wigan's squad as an example.. they rarely drop a pass,
and their speed and accuracy are top notch.(Practice makes perfect).
Regarding a specialist coach.. .. I'd have brought in Cooke as a skills coach, according to AP... Horne has
been working with the halfbacks.

| Not to be negative but tonight proved we would be screwed if Houghton gets injured next season because Cunningham was terrible and despite playing SL this whole year looked out of his depth.

| I don't think you can judge Cunningham on 20 minutes, was one of Londons better players when he played regularly. Give him a pre season with the team and some game time and then we can see how he goes.
Houghton was excellent, attacking wise (assists and try's this has been his best season) gets some unfair criticism IMO.
As for the game, really poor first half, Leeds stepped up 2nd when Burrow came on, but we really played some good stuff in the last 20, thought Logan looked good, in attack and defence, he has the makings of a really good SL centre.
As I have said it was important to finish the season positively and take into next season.

To reconcile respect with practicality, what is the optimum speed for a hearse?:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_7384.png |

| On passing, at one point Sinfield got a shocker of a ball from dummy half, but because we weren't in his face when he did he was able to get a quick pass out, zipping it to McGuire. Two more very quick passes later Leeds had an overlap which fortunately they didn't benefit from. Bang bang bang, over the advantage line and we're back-pedalling.
Contrast that with some of ours and you see how far we have to go. Slow, high/low, on the floor, occasionally ok. Leeds defensive line speed did put pressure on passer/receiver but we don't help ourselves.
That said, the last 20 showed what we can do and any victory over Leeds is a good one.
An off season of greater optimism than last year for me but work to do.
