Good news, but I really don't like the idea of him moving to prop next season. We've already got good numbers in the front row unless someone is leaving which I can't see, although I did hear that Green was linked with Fev? How true that is I don't know but I can't see it.

happy with 1 year, as I felt tying him up for 2017 was too early. Been in great form this year, if other players had his consistency and attitude we wouldn't be in the mess we are in.

How can people be happy with this. I thought the general feeling is once you reach 30 you automatically become $hit injury prone and shouldn't be touched with a barge-pole.

One of our 2 best performers this year, good news.
As for prop, I thought there was an outside chance of it this year before we finished our recruitment, and it's always been a possibility for him.

Personally I would have waited until a few games into next year, as he will be still taking up a decent wage (even though I reckon it will be less than his current deal.
I think the move to prop could be a good move depending on our recruitment.
Been our 2nd best player this year and certainly our most consistent.

I could understand if he was a 19 year old starlet whos burst on to the scene this season.

Thinking about it though, could we have possibly have created ourselves a bit of wiggle room for next year by doing it now? Say he was on £150k a season, what if he's just signed for £120k for the next 2 now? Costs the club an additional £90k, but gives him that £90k for another year of security and frees up £30k on our cap for next year. |

That's the Rovers' fan view of any of our signings over 30. Seems that, with a few exceptions, that can be increased to 35 generally anyway.
