| Rankin - at last, a half back who looks dangerous, has pace
and can run the ball - one of the few positives from yesterday`s
worrying performance. BUT, Miller - we seem to have got ourselves
into a mess here. He has to go.
Young and inexperienced, yes, but he shows none of the
qualities all good, promising scrum halves have - he can`t control
the play, his passing at times is awful, he doesn`t make breaks,
score tries, put people through gaps, and he hasn`t that cheeky,
attacking flair.
Listened to Radio Merseyside`s` R.L. program with R.French
and co. last week. Quote - " Hull continue to get the half backs
wrong - Miller one of the worst Aussie signings ever". Gary
Schofield, great player and judge of a player is of the same opinion.
Horne still has the class and pace, and was our best player
until injured last year - he has to play with Rankin.

| I don't agree, based on yesterday. He didn't have a great game, but got to go?? Seriously?
Rankin had a good game, but who's to say he won't have a mare next Sunday?
And quoting Schofield's view? Just no.

| That was difficult to read. Why is it formatted funnily?
Anyhow, calling Miller after two friendlies is a huge knee jerk reaction. I will so no more and I think most will agree.

I hope he proves all the knockers wrong, if he doesn't perform to the standard Hull are looking for then I am sure Radders with give someone else a chance.

| Not a knee-jerk reaction, I`ve always thought this. Same with Holdsworth
and Seymour. Perhaps you can tell us exactly what you do see in Miller.
As for Schofield, did you ever see him play? I know he`s opinionated, but in
his articles in the R.L.Express he says it as it is, and is usually right.

| Miller has to start well this season or be dropped. Should be the same for any player in any position. He's had the full pre-season and knows the team and club now. Hopefully he'll kick on and show what he can do.

| I see a lot of promise in Miller.
He was on a wind up mission of his oppo in a game last year (can't remember which one), that worked and we took control. I think he's often too fast for the rest of the team which is maybe why he doesn't appear to be that good. Managed to put Ellis through a couple of gaps last year for tries though. With a full pre-season and maybe a little less pressure, he could do well.
Last week (admittedly only against Donny), I thought we were flat when he wasn't on the field, and thought he kicked well. Yesterday he wasn't as good.
Never saw Schofield play live, but have seen the old videos. Great player. Now he thinks he's right about everything. I only listen to his opinion if I want a laugh.

There's A reason Schofield has articles in the R.L.Express and is not actually coaching.
Sorry but what he says about Rugby League has very little affect on me because I don't rate his opinion at all. the problem is he can't accept when he is wrong and having meet him on a number of occasions although he denies it find he has a very large chip on his shoulder when it comes to talking about anything to do with Hull Fc, be that players, coaches or even owners.

And that was probably the highlight of his half a season spent with you guys, if it was against anyone else it would have hardly got a mention, but we all know this.
He should have the upper hand over Rankin for a starting spot and as someone mentioned, he already knows the club and players. There has been a lot of reaction to a poor pre season game that is probably been taken out of context, it's just to get some miles in the legs. Miller failed to shine last season but needs to find some form, fast!
I can see Horne as the only name down on the team sheet in the halves at the moment.

For a minute I thought you were being serious. Schofield is not a pundit and hates us.
For reference, go re-watch the Rovers v Hull game at the back end of last year. Miller was everywhere and wound up Burns to the point of getting him sent off. Reminds me of a young Andy Gregory.
He'll never be a game-controller, but he can turn a game.
You're being far too harsh on him. He came in last year without a pre-season, was thrown straight in and very much under the spotlight.
Give him a chance, remember he's only a kid and drop the clear Aussie mistrust.

Do you believe a team needs that player who can control a game?

guess you will find out this season!l
as for miller, massive knee jerk reaction from the OP after the bradford defeat in a friendly
Radford will get more out of yesterdays result than bradford did, bulls fans on the way out were already predicting a top 8 finish! still plenty of work to do whoever is in the halves

Neither of our clubs has a player that can control a game, so don't get too cocky!

| Young lad with only a few games under his belt, but not seen anything to suggest he'll be out of the ordinary. Gentle's fate was sealed not long after Miller had arrived, not sure why Pearson sanctioned the signing tbh.

When Sean Long was 20, Wigan shipped him out to Widnes, not thinking he was good enough. Miller could become a top halfback, or he could be just as average as all the veterans we've signed in the past. At least he has the potential to get better! My only issue with him so far is his dodgy defense - which is a little scary when we have Ben Crooks in the same side. Both are young enough to work on their techniques though.
