With spring tides and gale force winds predicted, some are likening the prevailing weather conditions today to those of the great storm of 1953. Hull, Holderness and the East Yorkshire coast suffered horrendous flooding and storm damage, I just hope the authorities and individuals are prepared.

Spurn Point could well become an island tonight, it suffered a bad breach in September and all traffic has been denied access and a shuttle by Land Rover is in operation for VTS/Pilots. It could have significant impact on the Humber operations if the VTS tower has power and communications black outs.

Do you mean the Crown and Anchor? It's a day for huddling round a fire cradling rum and ginger wine for sure.
If Hull are training on Chants today Zephyrus is sending the winds down the Avenues as if Hyacinth himself is standing on Prinny Ave in an attempt to cause death by flying rugby ball instead of discus. It's like each of the 4 riders of the Apolcalypse has chosen an Avenue to hurtle down.

At least the flashing light doesn't operate anymore.
Used to p!ss me off 40 years ago when i were a lad with that fooking thing flashing into your bedroom every three or four seconds. |
