Why do we continue to play out of contract players who are leaving imo I would send them to our dual reg team Briscoe and tickle have played at quarter pace all season, if I was the coach I would ship them out soon as I new of their intention to leave whoever they are, plus I think crookes, holdsworth Johnson and a few others should be on the way after last nights debacle.

I think Briscoe was one of our better players over the later stage of the season. There are several in our squad I'd be looking to cut loose, though.

I'd start with Crookes, Holdsworth and Yeaman.

To be honest there are a few I'd like to see go but just how much would it cost the club to do it and who do we bring in and not totally sure how paying off a load of players would affect the salary cap either..

Yes because loads of teams have plenty of space on their cap for 2014 what with none of them having started recruitment yet and/or I assume your players will be happy to take a pay cut to leave HFC to fit in another clubs cap.

Because we were still competing to win things this season and so we need to put out what we think is our strongest team. Briscoe (who you highlighted) is one of our most talented players and we need him in the side. He doesn't get enough of the ball supplied to him, we've drastically underused him.
Even if he's had a 'poor' season, that is only in relation to his usual high standards. He's still one of the best wingers in the league.

If they're out of contract then it's fine for them to leave. They've seen through what they've agreed to do with us and they can do whatever they wish when the contract has expired (although I would have liked to have kept players like Briscoe).
I only get annoyed when players decide to just walk out midway through their contracts.


You can't really blame a player like Briscoe for leaving. He's still young, he's very talented, and he doesn't get used to the best of his ability in our side. He's extremely dangerous on the ball and yet he only really gets the chance to have a run when we're returning kicks. He'll be fantastic in a team like Wigan (who are looking for a winger), etc.
