Given that there seems to be widespread agreement that our current squad isn't good enough, how would you like to see us line up for the first game of next season? I'm not talking fantasy league. I mean making the best of what we have with a couple of additions that we would realistically have a shot at getting. Where I list 2 or more players in one position that is in order of preferance.

A couple of additions wouldn't be enough... That team there wouldn't stand a chance of winning anything!!

We're not going to realistically assemble a team capable of challenging for the SL title in one year.
Also this years team, which is widely regarded as terrible, game within 80 minutes of lifting the CC so that team above could well win something.

No it probably wouldn't. But like I have said this isn't fantasy league, we can't just sack 10 guys and bring in superstars in their place. We have to build year on year. I've said before you won't tell how much (or how little) Pearsons investment has done for us for another 4 or 5 years when the lads who are currently 15 and 16 are ready for first team.

ONE YEAR... We were grand finalists 7 years ago, went massively backwards and have been trying ever since.

Gentle performed well with what Agar built, put his own team together and took us further backwards with far better resources at his disposal.. I honestly think Agar is a better coach than Gentle!! That final was a fluke, Catalan should have beaten us, Warrington were awful in semi and had hgey turned up would have walloped us. I'm glad we got there but Warrington would have made it an interesting final to watch!!

How would changing outside backs help us compete? We need a top class half back, at least one prop and a back rower that breaks the line plus a dangerous centre and a bjb type player that can cover wing or full back as required

Tarim Simms and James Tamu would do it in the pack

Agree this is the team is prefer although I'd not want crookes anywhere near the starting line try and get BJB if briscoe is off to Leeds and that would be great and also arundel is yet to prove himself too but would be willing to give him a chance

No but I don't believe that we'll sign BJB. Pearson said we have signed an international from another code. We wouldn't have Lineham, Biggs and BJB in the squad.
