One of my worst days as a fan of Hull.
I know time heals all wounds and all that, but it still sticks in my mind that defeat. Who was it that kicked Harkin in the head and got away with it scott free? Thinking it was Hudson, but memory a bit clouded.
The Magic weekend defeat last year is probably the closest in recent history to that day, for me anyway. Bit sad I know, but thats what supporting Hull does to me.

| It was far, far worse than 1980.
It was the classic case of complacency - Hull just though we'd turn up, go through the motions and retain the Cup.

| Yes it was Hudson.
Bad team selection though - Bunting played too many slow forwards from the off.

| Getting to the '82 replay and not being able to get to see the match.
Went with my aunt whom worked at the club (mas did my uncle) & she took me all over the place following the team,
I was just coming up to 13 and wanted to wait in the melee/push through somehow but auntie didn't so we trudged back to the carpark.
Sat in tears on the coach as I'd not missed many games since '78 it was such a sickening feeling, winning didn't really matter because I couldn't actually 'see' the game despite the TV on the coach, it just wasn't even close.
That's why in 2005 I blubbed like a baby at the final whistle

Thats unusual, as that night will be one of many (older) Hull fans favourite moments. Mine included. Must of been a real sickener for you.
ps Just waiting for a rovers troll to put the magic weekend game down as one of their favourite games

| It was a disastrous day. Lots of rumours about players being out on the lash the night before

| the 1983 game at Wembley was my worst day,as we were supposed to win easily against what some Featherstone fans stood next to us described as "a team of pit ponies" yes it was worse than 1980 as that was my first visit to Wembley and the loss didn't really sink in till later in the week

| Feverstone got to the '83 final on merit, we turned up as if we owned the place and paid the penalty. Yeah a couple of iffy decisions went against us but we had the firepower to blow Fev out of the water.
I enjoyed the atmosphere and the coach was still singing as we left the massive car park, I was gutted but it didn't compare to missing us winning the previous year. Watching it on TV was little consolation.

| not the best of topics for a friday evening. 83 by far the worst for me.
We beat Fev comfortably week or two before the cup final in a league game. Red Hot favourites to win. We were all in party mode before the game.
Then Hobbs I think ?, went over for that first score. Just went from bad to worse.
Our awesome pack ! most of them from west yorks all had probably their worst game of the season.

| The only good thing (for me) about the '83 final was lumping £50 on Fev at 14:1. at least that paid for our holiday to Greece later that year
