| This topic was locked earlier as having nothing to do with Hull FC but after listening to Hudgell on RH tonight he seems to have now moved the goal posts. My question is, on who's authority has he been given authorisation to discuss HFC's arrangements with either the Council or SMC, both of which are confidential. He bemoans the fact that his club have to pay £60,000 per year for commercial rents charges, something I thought was payment towards the loan that the council has obained to enable the project to go ahead. My issue with all this is the fact that he made public our arrangements with a third party, this is not our problem but he seems happy to drag us into it and use us as a pawn to get his own way. Can anyone answer his accusations of Hull being subsidised by the Council to the tune of £300,000 because maybe I've missed something on this subject.

| Someone with a bit of time should make a FOI request for information on how much financial support the council have given both Hull and Rovers in the last 10 years, plus how many councillors have received gifts/freebies from both clubs. I'm sure it would make interesting reading

Thank you for this - what gets me is that we as a City have had 3 clubs for 100 years approx and it seems now that there are people who just want this to implode - Allams wanting Rugby out of 'their' Stadium - Neil Hudgell with his pathetic attemps at as you say dragging Hull FC into problems at Craven Park. I dont and no-one else knows where this will all end but I hope this can all be overtaken by Sport cos that is what it is all for.coyh

And by the way people always seem to forget that Hull City also received a gift from Hull City Council - If they had not received the Stadium they would never have had the remit to spent £100 million in the last 10 years. I am guessing at that amount but Allam said yesterday they have spent £60 million so make your own minds up.

| Hudgell appears on the evidence to be a very bitter man indeed.

It is news to us when the name of Hull FC passes his lips after his dummy went flying. So does anyone know what the £300,000 is that he is talking about?

| Some entirely spurious figures being bandied about, no comparability whatsoever.
Hull FC play in the council's facility and pay the SMC north of £600k pa to do so. There is a ticketing subsidy arrangement between Hull FC and the SMC. Neil Hudgell claimed tonight, I think, that the council are subsidising Hull FC to the tune of £300k. I would like to see fuller evidence of this claim.
Hull KR play on the council land, paying rental to Gaingroup/KCD Holdings. When Rovers were in administration, the council repurchased the freehold of Craven Park to allow Rovers to continue trading. The council granted Gaingroup/KCD a 250 year peppercorn lease with a sublease to Hull KR. The question about whether Hull KR pay peppercorn rent only on Craven Park was not put to him.
He complained that the council have not seen a dividend return from the KC via the SMC. The question of whether the council see a dividend return on the freehold of Craven Park via Gaingroup/KCD Holdings was not asked.
He complained that Hull KR are contracted to pay £60k pa on the stand for 13 days' use. The fact that the original grant application showed a cost of £2m specifically attributable to the stand rather than the council facilities, so is an incremental cost purely attributable to Rovers, and the £60k is simply repayment of this sum over and extended time period as per the application 3 years ago was not mentioned.
The support afforded to Hull KR in terms of pitch improvement by the council was not specifically mentioned.
The reported contribution of £300k to Craven Park development by NHS Hull was not mentioned.
The distancing of himself from the development and say he won't put his name to it was not explored in terms of its implications. If Rovers refuse to pay, for example, because they're not satisfied, who picks up the £2m tab? This was not discussed.
And what was the most disappointing aspect of Rovers 2012 season? Falling attendances? Finishing 10th, out of the play-offs with a 1 from 10 run-in? Losing England Knights Watts and Taylor? No, not getting up for the derbies.

This was for the next east stand extension
Part of the way to provide a 14k capacity world cup venue by 2010

I hope this new stand has disabled viewing areas, as this put the tin hat on the east, did it not?

| Another question that was not posed was the mechanism for Rovers receiving half a million pounds up front for a beer deal : "We would also have been in receipt of a £500,000 advance against a new catering and brewery deal, which has now been lost". Half a million sheets? On attendances of 8k, that's £5 a game for every spectator. What's that all about?
