| Im not sure if the refs are totaiiy biased, totally blind, or just totally **$£**ing useless. Last night we got mullered by a much better team. IMO we didnt play too bad last night, considering the team we fielded and the injuries sustained. However this aside the reffing was a joke once more. Wigans very first set, tackle five, Hock has it stripped in a one on one, and thats being lenient because he dropped it, oh my word, its a penalty to wigan. This seems to be how the games go week in week out, yet somehow its always seems to be the same teams the get the rub of the green. Im sick to death of watching teams tackle hard for five tackles only for the ref to give a pathetic penalty on the last tackle.
Last night what really gets on my **** is how wigan are allowed to lay on at every play of the ball, they dump three and four men into the tackle, one or two arriving when the tackle is already complete, then lie there well the defence gets set. Then after they have had a cup of tea, and maybe even a biscuit, they decide they just might get off and let the player get to his feet. Also, in the tackle, when the man is stood up, and the man with the whistle has shouted held, they are allowed to hold onto the man and grapple with him for an extra half hour while the defence gets set. Yet not once, not once in the whole game was wigan penalised for this infringment.
Wigan fans will just say its sour grapes, but im not just talking about last night, its week in, week out. Its every game you watch on sky.The Catalan game against St Helens was nothing short of criminal, even the video ref wiped off two perfectly good tries. Catalan got a try wiped off for a dubious forward pass, that was never forward, yet two minutes later Meli catches a pass that was at least five yards forward but the try stands.
I could go on for hours, something needs to change because as a spectical the sport is becoming a joke. I love Rugby league and have watched it for over twenty years, yet even i am losing my patience and feel like not watching anymore.

| Referees have always been an issue and always will. The problem is consistency. One solution to help is 2 refs like the NRL but you will still get odd decisions as it is down to opinions. What one man sees as a knock on/forward pass another will disagree.

Totally agree. These refs don't seem to answer to anyone either and don't apoligise after making error after error. Unfortunately it seems the rfl are happy with the standard of refereeing as they've hardly said anything different have they? I'm not expecting a change anytime soon

| I totally agree with the consistancy, but it always seems like the same teams get the rub of the green. And what makes me laugh is when on sky they say that a team should sort out its disipline, like when the penalty count is about 12-2 in one teams favour, yet loads of the same penalties could have been given the other way but haven't.
I understand its not an easy game to referee, but the touch judges don't seem to have a clue. Its about time the RFL cleanned up its act.

| You're not allowed to slag off referee's. There'll be one along in a minute to back the poor lambs up. Watch out for "They do a hard job", "I bet you couldn't do it" and "Watch the game again, you'll see who is wrong".

| The whole call of held then the ball carrier getting taken down was a joke last night. Liam Farrell only seemed to be making 3rd man in tackles going for players knees

You forgot the "If you think you can do better take the refs course." one.

| Refs are pretty useless but i don't think any of them cheat or knowingly favour one side

| I asked this on the Hicks thread but didn't get an answer so I'll try here. Does the ball have to pass the second rowers in the scrum in order to be "out"? The reason I ask is that towards the end of the first half we had a scrum near our own line. Our second rower (possibly Westerman) put his foot on the ball to keep it "in" the scrum and get a penalty for Wigan being offside. Child just waved this away do perhaps that's not the rule?

I spotted it to So Did Jim next door We were talking about it this morning Jim was at the game last night I watch the recording of the game when I came in I agree with you it should have been a penalty to Hull

| as far as i'm aware the rule is as soon as he put his foot on it to stop it leaving the scrum{ie stops the balls momentum} then the ball is deemed out. otherwise as soon as it passes the second rows feet the ball is out and in play

| Love to have a bet on the Sky games but every year is getting worse because not only do you have to look at the teamsheets and current form you have to guess which way the Ref will go.
Injuries, missed tackles and such take their toll during games as we saw last night but I'm guessing Wigan's plan was to blow Hull away early and ease off with an eye on Wire next week and Child certainly contributed to them doing that.

| nearly all the refs are total shiiite alibert is prob in the top 2 best refs (well at least for being unbias) its just a shame he cant count. It sounds like your moaning about refs all the time and using them as an excuse for a defeat but its really not like that at all they are just so frustrating and when the final hooter goes it should be rugby league that is the talking point not the refs
The worse thing is the only way anything will change is if we become a top 3 team imo .

| Could be wrong and feel free to disprove this, but I reckon we've won only ONE game out of 14 when Childs has been in charge.
