Life is a game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when add up all those inches, that's gonna make the difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying! You've got to look at the guy next to you, look into his eyes. Now I think ya going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. Your gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team, because he knows when it comes down to it your gonna do the same for him. That's a team, gentlemen. TONY D'AMATO:

I'm 37, had a debate with some pals tonight over a few beers.

For me, I was about 8 or 9 so 1983/1984 ish, the old boy used to take me.

Peter Sterling.......

And anyone remember this? www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9jR9zzHpLI

Mal Meninga also!

Think it was 44-4

Sure the old boy still has the program somewhere!

39 and not sure when i was hooked as I was taken to nearly all the games from 1973 onwards but I think when we brought over the Kiwis (O'hara/Kemble/James L (never can spell his last name)) I got really excited with all things Hull.

45 and not sure really I was took to Hull & amateur games from a very young age maybe about 8 yrs old and had no choice in the matter, I used to like it as I know my mum would buy me sweets to keep me occupied, think I got hooked around 14.

Had a few gaps with season passes when my children were born due to finances etc

When I was 7, last game of the 78/79 season, we lost to Salford and were relegated. Apart from a few years in the mid 90's when I worked every Sunday I've been a regular.

My mum was red and white and dad FC and I was taken to my first match at Rovers in 1946 and shortly afterwards to the Boulevard. I lived until I left Hull in 1960 near Marfleet station not too far away from where my mum was brought up in nearby dockland with her 12 siblings. Her eldest sister came to Australia to marry an Aussie in 1919 followed by her next eldest married sister. As a young kid I was sent stuff from Aus and became fascinated with the place and of things Australian. My decision to opt for supporting the Black and Whites came with the arrival of the 3 Australian players Watt, Jackson and Ryan to the Boulevard in 1947. I had a brief go at playing rugby league (for Fenners) in my teens but decided watching Hull was better ( and physically less damaging!!).

Ive just turned 40 and my first game was the final home game before the 1980 CC Final which i also went too though dont remember a thing about it. My dad used to take us home and away season after season and i was at every final except the premiership final when we won but we fell out of love with FC in the Casey years and beyond and then i started going again when we was the Sharks and after a couple of seasons managed to drag my dad back when we used to stand in the well with my two brothers. Then we moved to the KC and my dad got a season ticket in East on the half way line and id be there with my brothers in the south/east corner till the Agar years kicked in and ive sort of fallen out of love with FC again though i still managed to take my kids aged 8, 6 and 4 to their first games last season and a couple this season so the legacy continues

“We will not accept a top eight finish as a barometer of supposed success at any point in the future whilst I am the owner of this club. Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you. "Rugby League is a simple game played by simple people. Rugby Union is a complex game played by wankers." L.Daley 2005:

Im 46 and first went in 1975 with my Nana and think we played Hunslet. After that i went all the time and took my eldest for the 1st time when we played Sts in a play-off match at boulevard and she now is a pass holder as is youngest.

I'm in my early 40s and first started going in 1978-79, the 100% season. First game was the 61-10 win over Oldham.

We never won enough trophies in that period up to 1985 but it was still a great time to be a Hull supporter.

I'm 43 and started going with my dad and grandad sometime in the mid 70's. Honestly don't know what the 1st game I saw was. I do remember it mostly being bloody cold though and going back to my Gran's after the games and thawing out in front of her coal fire.

Got dragged to the Boulevard in the mid 60's by my Mum, Dad and Nanna who all stood in threepenny. Was only about 7 at the time and playing on the hill at the Gordon Street end held more excitement for me (stayed away from threepenny stand because it stank). I used to like waiting for half time when the gates opened and everyone surged in to watch the second half for free. Only really took an interest in the early seventies and it went from there and i've never looked back, been some good, bad and dreadful times but it's in the blood so will always be a black and white.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and proudly proclaiming `Wow, what a ride`:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_60404.png

1961. 5 year old and like FC50 enjoyed playing on Gordon st hill more than the games. It was against the dobbins and I can remember even now the fight some young kids had with the dobbins fans behind the hill in the thick mud. Not sure who won the game though. Still got a rotting program from that game somewhere in the loft.
