| Hi guys
As already mentioned on another thread we are showing Saturdays game live in New Clarence.
Kick off time is 5pm, not 6pm as advertised on fc's website ( this is European time)
We still have plenty of tickets left priced at £5 each - £1 of this is donated to charity
Come and cheer on the boys

| Bet you have got plenty left if you're charging people £4 (plus a pound to charity) to get in.

The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

A fiver to get into a pub to watch a TV? I'd have to disagree. I wouldn't go on principle (if I still lived in Hull). FWIW, I don't pay to go into nightclubs, either!

It's a bit different as it's the only pub showing it, people go to the cinema to watch origin here.

Exactly. If other places were showing it for free, there'd be no one there!

| Probably going to get told to butt out here as a Rovers fan, but I can't believe the people complaining at the price Ian is charging for the game. To me its a perfectly fine price for a service no other venue in Hull will be offering tommorow. I paid £4 for a ticket there in Feb 08 vs Catalans, and it was a fantastic night. Brilliant atmosphere, plenty of screens so no-one missed anything and for me its the best place in Hull for live sport.
To have only increased his prices by £1 (with that quid going to charity) in more than 4 yrs says how honest a guy he is, and to have so much dedication to RL while other pubs wouldn't dream of paying the supposedly insane pub Sky prices is something I personally respect and appreciate.
Seriously guys its well worth a fiver, if I was a Hull fan I'd be there without a doubt. If you play well I guarantee the atmosphere for a pub will be outstanding, and surely 100x better than watching at home.
Can't imagine the messing about he's had to make it possible, so again I personally feel a fiver is nothing when you consider its something nowhere else would have the dedication or love of the game to do.

| The only problem I have with charging punters to come in is that it discriminates against regular punters, when we're in Hull, we often go in for something to eat at New Clarance and usually on a Saturday, obviously we're Hull fans but to be told we would have to pay £4 to get in when we go in most Saturdays is poor imo. For me having the game on is sure to bring in more custom and get the tills ticking over, the need to try to rake in more is a bit of a scam, if you can give £1 to charity why not give the full £5 to charity, say dove house hospice, give the mail a ring, get a piece in the local rag and everyone wins.

Wouldn't they have to put on more bar and door staff?
Isn't the fact they're selling tickets partly to do with them been able to prepare for numbers and to tell everyone without a ticket not to bother queuing/turning up?
And i don't see how it discriminates, everyone can pay to get in.

| Tickets are needed in order to limit the number of people that can enter the pub.

True. They don't need to cost £5 for this, though.

Surely the fact they are doing tickets means they are having to pay someone to work on both the doors, therefore an extra unnecessary cost. If it was my local boozer and all of a sudden I was being asked to pay to get in, because non regulars were coming to watch rugby, then yes it discriminates against regulars, I'm assuming they didn't charge for the England v Italy Euro semi and again I'd assume it would have been busy even though it was on terrestrial TV. If they are doing tickets to avoid queues and over crowding, then why not just advertise that if you want to come in to the pub for the game, then you have to come and pick up a ticket/voucher before the day. I think most landlords would be happy if they had to put on more staff, because it was busy, rather than make a cheap buck and justify it by giving £1 to charity.

| To be honest I couldn't give a .
It's 5 quid to watch a game you otherwise wouldn't be able to see, trust me I'd pay a tenner to watch any Hull game live on tv.
He's running a business, he has over heads and has to make a profit (there's not many in the pub game) it's supply and demand.
