| Well the weather is pretty grottty in Leeds right now, and a number of weekend events are being cancelled. Definitely check before you set off for Leeds tonight.
If it does go ahead the rain might just even the game up a littele - otherwise I fear the worst!

You mean you might have a better chance? Yeah probably.

| We had a massive thunderstorm about an hour ago and the rain is coming down very heavy at the moment in the city centre.
Met Office says heavy rain all day as well.

| As lenny said it's grim here in Leeds today. There's standing water on the roads already, just drove past Headingley on the way to work and the parking cones (down cardigan road) are out which suggests the Rhinos/Police think it will go ahead.
Certainly check for updates before you travel across today though.

| This ain't cricket. We don't stop for a bit of rain!
Seriously, how many SL games have been cancelled due to rain? I know Hull vs Salford was cancelled but that was due to the flooding during the week rather than rain on the day itself.

Think it's the fact that there's so much rain going to fall today and weather or not the drainage system can take it.
It's coming down hard and fast and has been for a few hours now.

| Remember Matt Sing scoring a try right in front of me at Headingley one year when a kick that looked all set for the front row of the terrace stopped dead in a pool of water and he just fell on it

Yeah, those not in Leeds, don't seem to realise just how bad it is.
The Headingley pitch is way behind some of the football pitches in terms of technology and drainage, even with more advanced pitches football games get called off due to waterlogged pitches all the time.
Given the weather and the state of the roads, there could be a sub 10k attendance tonight (assuming the game goes ahead).

Agreed, the pitch will have to be underwater for this game not to go ahead. Sky are the paymasters and will want the game on. I remember a couple of years ago when we played at Leeds, there were puddles under the sticks conditions were appaling but it still went ahead, if it had not been on Sky the game would have been off.
Latest forecast I saw this morning looked like rain will ease in Leeds area by late PM, think it will deter a lot of Hull fand from travelling though if they have not bought advance tickets, as were going to get pi$$ing wet through.
All that said for Hull at the moment having the game called off wouldn't be a bad thing,

| Its starting to brighten here in Leeds.
Its only belting it down now!!
If this level of rain continues I'd assume the pitch will have standing water on it.

| Well this is the cricket ground, doesn't look good if it carries on, which it's forecasted to do.
