| Went to my first Magic Weekend yesterday and despite the result really enjoyed it. Obviously the good weather helped, but it was great to see so many fans from all the clubs sitting together and watching the game. I also think this weekend has probably had the highest standard of RL since the Magic Weekends started, with only Wire-Widnes being a cricket score and London-Catalan being an easy game for the French...all of the others have been tense, end-to-end games with lots of attacking rugby.
Even though I enjoyed it, I do think the RFL will be disapointed with 30K yesterday, particularly as ticket prices were so low (as passholders we only paid £10 for Adults and £5 for concessions) and they aren't getting any money out of Manchester like they were Cardiff.
the crowd today looks better, maybe even 40K...but overall I think they were hoping for a higher gate.

| I think the choice of games may have made an impact of yesterdays attendance.First up was a game between 2 bottom 4 sides without big followings followed by a training session for Warrington and with the gap of well over an hour between each game it seemed to me that once supporters had seen their team play they drifted away rather than be kicking their heels waiting for the next
game.
Todays attendance should be nearer the 40 k with the games coming thick and fast with only 2 hours between each kick off time.
On another note IMO the Hull derby should be first up in future because of the usual idiots who'd been on the bevvy all day causing trouble on the concourse after the game.Didnt see any trouble between any other teams supporters after the previous 2 games.

Have to agree. Some of both Hull and Rovers fans need to be ashamed of themselves, every other sets of fans seemed to be able to get on with each other just fine, but some of the Hull fans attitude to the Wire/Leeds fans was embarrassing - it's rugby not football, if you can't handle your beer don't come.
But I had a fantastic weekend and a great day so I'd like to highlight the positives and encourage anyone who hasn't been to one to get down there.

He's top quality baldy. If it boils down to performing at international level then every British player is going to fail as we haven't got enough quality to make a difference. Tompkins is the best we have, just wish we had more and they played for FC.

Tbh...couldnt give a toss about internationals..went to 2 last yr and enjoyed it but the way the RFL have treated us with a pi$$ poor match, they can stick it up their arris.Agree about Tompkins in a FC shirt though.

couldn't agree more about the rfl and them screwing the rugby fans of hull over on many occasions with internationals, we was told we would be getting the QF in the world cup and also the exiles gaem at the kc, but this was cancelled due to the pitch being relayed, so how come clarkey tweeted the pitch had been relayed well over 3 weeks before the exiles game, our game v saints will be played on it so why not the exiles? mainly because the rfl bigwigs dont want to travel over to hull! so unless i can get a ticket for a tenner for the fiji game, i wont be funding the rfl with my money!
