| The old ones are the best...
BUT
Just watched the start of the Man City/Liverpool game and they dimmed the stadium lights and put a blue moon on the big screen, which triggered(ish) the fans singing the City anthem. The players then came out to Right Here, Right Now and even though the stadium isn't full the atmosphere sounded great.
Set me thinking about FC coming out for matches this season. I know most matches will be during the day, but how about showing some FC legends on the screen and start off Old Faithful over the speakers, then let us fans carry it on before the teams come out to something as bouncing as Right Here, Right Now. With the hoped for increase in crowds, it could bring a fantastic atmosphere to our home games and hopefully inspire the team.
Just a thought...

I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full-frontal lobotomy

| I'd love to hear old faithful belted out by everyone just before the team runs out.
It's the one downside to the KC though & the fact it's all seater, people who would normally sing are sat next to people who maybe don't bother. Unlike the traditional grounds that used to have area that was always very vocal, threepenny stand for us.
With the new regime really pushing this fresh start I would love it if we could all do our bit in the stands & create a fantastic & intimidating atmosphere.
I'm not a football fan but have always liked watching the Liverpool fans before kick off singing they're anthem & all holding up they're scarves, be fantastic if we could recreate that with old faithful.

Another problem is tha fact that once one person or section of the crowd start to sing, by the time it reaches the other end of the stadium, the originals are half-way through the 2nd line.
We've had allsorts of pis[is[/ipotical "groups" making lame attempts at singing it, in varied tempos with atrocious backing. Surely it is not such an expensive exercise to record a half-decent singer, singing it in the tempo that it's usually sung at games, without any backing at all?

The good thing about just showing the picture about a minute before the team comes out to give us the nod to sing rather than playing the anthem through the pa, is that the recorded version is obviously sung at a faster pace than the chant & never works whereas everyone will know when kick off is coming, look at screen & chant together.
Ooh I think this could work, sure it was asked at the 400 forum about coming out to old faithful & A P said he liked the idea. This method of just prompting us to sing instead of following an actual song could work I think because it's the one time when everyone should be ready
