Take the pi22 as much as you want on this one......they still got 80,000+ for a league game that WILL never happen in rugby league..... icon_rolleyes.gif

What you have missed tho.....get rid of the London Broncos, give the licence to a northern traditional RL club and stuff the southern softies.

“We will not accept a top eight finish as a barometer of supposed success at any point in the future whilst I am the owner of this club. Thats why you got the Bullet Agar...Adam Pearson wants winners...not useless gits like you. "Rugby League is a simple game played by simple people. Rugby Union is a complex game played by wankers." L.Daley 2005:

Who gives a toss....if you get a load of upper class toffs paying to watch the ball being kicked for 99% of the game then fool them.

In 2006 (I think) they got 76,000 odd for a game. It was the Grand Final, but still...

full credit to rugby union. and it was a great match of running rugby. really good rugby to watch and maybe some rugby league fans should stop this hatred of union. Ive said this before if there was no league there would be no union.

82,000 is a phenomenal achievement and people can mock the product all they like but the public comes to watch it in numbers. It may not be to many people's taste but it is a significant global sport and they must be doing a lot more right than wrong to get the kinds of gates and tv revenue that they do.

Rugby league couldnt get 80,000 to watch a league game, if it was free admission and free transport. we have to hold our hands up, the general public prefer Rugby Yawnion in London. London Broncos take note .

The general public prefer Union in most of this country not just London.

Exactly.

If they can get 82,000 people to an average league game (albeit between the top two in the league at the moment) then they are doing something extremely right.
Could St Helens vs Wigan get 76,000 at Old Trafford? Cold they even get 40,000 at Anfield?

I wish SL clubs would try this more often. Leeds haven't even tried taking a SL game to Elland Road despite selling it out numerous times for the WCC.
