Considering Halibut was one of the worst refs ever a couple of seasons back he is definitely the most consistent ref this season.

I was particularly impressed by the way that he consistently failed to police the PTB.

Good to see he dont take no from gobby players though

Which was consistent for both sides. He lets the game flow instead of trying to be the centre of attention.

There's a fine line between letting the game flow and ignoring the rules. IMO he was on the wrong side of that line tonight with the PTB.

Had a decent game otherwise though.

The only good ref is the one with a head stone .Today ref's are sh-t ..They should give the fans the whistle .But what do you expect they boss was a bag of crap

Every ref has his trait.

Personally think he is the best referee.

Got to agree, this season at least. The thing I like is that he doesn't seem to covet the limelight like others which shall remain nameless

Also can any one tell me the last time a touch judge saw a reason to raise his flag.

They just relay everything via the wireless headsets they wear now. They do occasionally raise a flag but not too often.

Whiting questioned the touch judge on Friday for a decision made and the touch judge shrugged his shoulders and said "it wasn't me" - i do wish they would get involved more, especially for forward passes - they are ideally (or should be) placed. bring back Fred Lindop (and I never thought i would say that ).

Definately one of the better refs.
