We've gone from seeing his beardy face everywhere on the website and tuning in weekly for the BS bingo on Airlie Night to hearing absolutely nothing from him IIRC since we turned in a profit. There was something very comforting and familiar with the "don't comment on rumour" and "recruitment is an ongoing process" monologues- like white noise to a baby. Anyone know what's going on - hope he's OK.

Well, my Preston Road loving chum. When you have a job and want to leave you actively seek alternative employment before leaving, if you're lucky, it will be better paid with better working conditions.
Don't they explain anything at the job centre these days?

You need someone else to employ you, you numpty. (Not like being in Tears for Fears and living off Songs from the Big Chair income for 40 years while you churn out mediocrity and hope your customers don't notice. Actually, that's exactly what it's been like at FC under Rule. 2005/6 = Songs from the Big Chair. Everything afterwards is Curt Smith's solo career. )

I wonder if it's partly to do with him having less to work with. Regardless of what people say, he's been very good at what he's there for; promoting the club, highlighting the positives, and deflecting the negatives where possible. So far he's been able to do it with spin and being flexible with the truth, but this year he doesn't have anything new to spin and has pretty much lied on a couple of occasions. All he has available to him now is either repetition, deluded denial of the situation, or untruths. In the face of that, maybe he doesn't see anything to say that wouldn't just add fuel to disgruntled fans' fire.
