"YOUNG York City Knights prodigy Tom Lineham is to join Super League club Hull FC – with the Championship outfit getting no fee in return.
Flying winger Lineham, then 18, burst onto the scene last season with 11 tries in 18 appearances before his campaign was ended by a knee injury in early August, followed by major surgery.
As a 17-year-old, he came a close-up third in a one-off sprint challenge featuring the fastest players in Super League."

Seems a bit unfair, if the lad has the potential to be an SL player surely he is worth a fee. If the smaller clubs cannot reap any reward from players they bring through why should they bother with the expense of doing it.

Try reading the link 1st before coming on here and having a sly dig...he has a clause in his contract enabling him to leave so surely thats Yorks fault in letting have that clause. |

Not sure iv ever heard of him tbh but its good to see that we are looking beyond the Hull area for our going talent. Briscoe, Whiting and Brough were all unearthed this way so hopefully by spreading our net a bit wider we will find a couple more gems.
This kid certainly sounds like he has a bit of pace anyway.

I agree to an extent but if he has a clause allowing him to leave for free then Hull would be daft to voluntarily pay a fee. We are a business after all. |

Whilst there was no need to pay a fee, I would hope we give them something back in return, even if it's just the loan of Cunningham/Kent/Aldous for a couple of months to improve their side, or even that we loan him back to them for the season.
