| Anyone see the highlights last night? Hodgsons first try wasn't a try, short of the line as we all suspected around us due to the lack of reaction from their fans down that end. The try we had chalked off is now given 95% of the time from video refs regarding offside from a kick. Not saying these are mitigating circumstances for Agar but with these in our favour we would somehow have been leading at h-t!
The Agar interview after however is a joke - he mentions that we lost all 3 corresponding fixtures last season too. The inference being that that's ok then as long as we replicate other results! Why would he say something like that? Baffling.

Because he has no idea what he is doing? He is out of his depth.

[quote="The Reason":3e09qe5x]Hi Andy
The Rugby Football League are in the process of reviewing the video that you are referring to. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and have contacted the player’s employer, Hull F.C., who have confirmed that they are dealing with the incident under their club rules.

Matthew[/quote:3e09qe5x]:23521.jpg |

| What's he's saying is the hysteria at losing 3 games on a bounce wouldn't be as much if the specific games were spread out over the season, eg last season.

| That is disgraceful !
We should look to win every game and I wager that other coaches don't have the same attitude.
Wait til we get to easter - he will say he's happy with 1 win out of the 2 games baecuse it is such a tough spell ! Well, it's the same for all clubs and quite a few win both games
What a loser

| All stalling tactics from Agar. If he says we lost the same fixtures last season, he'll still say we finished in the playoffs. Year on year he should be aiming to better the previous one, however he's fallen for the standard which Hull FC have set their sights on - mediocrity!

Correct.
Probably ill-advised to do so mind, and his delivery needs work. He's also still missing the point that it's not so much three losses as the performances that are the issue.

And the fact that in the Leeds game this season the circumstances all but [idemanded[/i a win. We had everything stacked in our favour and still couldn't register a victory.

| Easter will be the same as every year. Even if we beat Rovers we'll then get spannered at Warrington and hear the same the old 'it takes a lot out of the players, emotionally and physically, and to ask them to back it up is asking too much' rubbish. Funny how the likes of Leeds, Wigan, Saints and Warrington don't have that problem isn't it?

No its not quite the same for all clubs
LAST YEAR
Good Friday......We played HKR.......Warrington played I believe Salford
Easter Monday..We played Warrington...HKR played Quins
I believe this years fixtures are identical and theres a big difference in the games intensity, I cant see a trip to Salford draining resources as much as a full on "one true derby"

We get by far the worst deal over Easter. Leeds play Bradford but then get an extra day's turnaround as they play on Thursday, then play Crusaders and Catalans on the Monday respectively. Wigan v Saints is on Friday, but they then play Wakey and Cas on the Monday respectively. Rovers get a home game against Harlequins.

Fully agree and why same fixtures each year at this time?
I know we want the DERBY but other game should verry.

Yep, the evidence on the pitch says it all, although he is not the most media savvy to say the least, I think too much is made of his interviews and the way he comes across generally, you don't need to talk a good game to be a successful coach, sadly Agar is not a successful coach either but that's what I take issue with, not what he says after the game. He had a point in what he was saying, but the fact is we should be improving on an average season last year, not clinging onto it.

That's the point I've tried to make a few times though, the two things aren't mutually exclusive.
If someone comes across as a bit thick but they are really good at what they do, then you say 'you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover'. But if someone comes across across as a bit thick and does their job pretty badly too, then isn't it fair enough to say 'maybe they're just a bit thick'?

true but at least you were at home 3 days later last year we had the long trip to london so even less recovery time after the derby. Looks like the rfl have just reversed the fixtures from easter this year which is fair enough
