A full 20 minutes build up for the Challenge Cup final on Saturday,coverage starts at 2.10pm kick off at 2.30pm.Lets hope there are no major incidents in the Formula 1 coverage which precedes the rugby as we may miss the first half.No doubt all the latest football scores will flash up on the screen during the game too.

I think we got lucky in 2005. There was loads of build-up, including a Question of Sport. I think it was before Grandstand was axed. Since then, this level of preview has been the norm. TBF they have been advertising it heavily, but I suspect this is regional.

I get the BBC news over here and there has been no mention of it on the morning show. They talk about Aston Villa going out of the UEFA thingy, snooker players being questioned for betting irregularities, Quins bloodgate, West Ham violence, one-day cricket, Andy Murray but not one word about one of the biggest events in our sporting calendar. It's nice to see that the focused drive over the last 40 years to expand the game into London is really beginning to bear fruit.

Exactly. Its a public broadcasting company and they wouldnt be providing an adequate sports service to license payers if they didnt provide match day updates on the countries most populat sport.

Its unfortunate that the grand prix is on first. Dont think its an anti-rugby league conspiracy though as some suggest.

I am sure it isnt a conspiracy but this has been RL's biggest day on terestrial TV for donkeys years. An early morning preview show would have been nice!

Fair enough, more coverage would have been good. Its also the first year in god knows how long that the grand prix has been with the BBC. Its audience is far bigger than the Challenge Cup final will ever get.
