46188.jpg Hull FC Est.1865... Surviving without a Head Coach since 2008

| Hi Everyone,
First of all I'd like to introduce myself, I'm 26 years of age and I've been a full-time FC fan for 5 or 6 years now, although I have fond memories of being taken to the Boulevard as a child by my grandad. Due to the fact I'm usually based in West Yorkshire I am unable to attend every match but I would say on average I make it to around 50% of games per season, the majority of which are away games.
I've read this message board with interest for a number of years but have never felt compelled to post myself until now, so aswell as saying hello I want to take the opportunity to lay my cards on the table with regards to my feelings over the current goings on at the club.
I should start by saying I'm a firm member of the 'Agar Out' society. Without wanting to go over too much ground thats already been covered on this board at length, I could see no justification for appointing the man in the first place and since he was given the role I cannot see a single shred of evidence to suggest that he should remain in the role. The man is clearly out of his depth and has failed to demonstrate any tactical awareness or motivational skills in his time in charge and it is my opinion that him and his assistant Jon Sharpe are essentially running the club into the ground.
Agar's sympathisers continue to trot out the 'it's not his team' line and suggest just because some better players have been signed for next season that he 'deserves a chance' to manage that side. I am not prepared to tolerate my beloved team being used as a guinea pig and personally don't feel that Agar deserves much credit at all for next season's signings, anyone with even limited knowledge of our sport could see where the major shortcomings in our squad are, and the line given to us by Mr Rule that Agar was instrumental in persuading these players to sign is frankly nonsense in my opinion, these players have come for the money and/or length of the deal on the table, which is the nature of our sport these days. I will leave it there with my feelings on Agar but I could go on for hours (he can't speak properly, looks scruffy, insults the fans etc etc etc).
Anyway the main point of this post is that Rule (a man I also feel is way way out of his depth) has backed Agar to such a ridiculous extent, with his 'chef's ingredients' analogys etc (Agar isn't fit to be a pot washer!) that he must take responsibility himself. I feel that because Rule has tolerated a win % of 30 odd percent, increasingly appalling performances on the pitch and regression in the abilities of our better players that if he gets his wish and Agar is allowed to stay until next season he has to resign himself when Agar inevitably falls on his sword a few games into next season. By this point it will be a 3rd season down the drain and the extent to which Rule has backed this no-hoper means he is just as responsible as Agar for our downfall and would surely have to go himself.
Apologies for the length of this post, I look forward to any responses and future debates on this forum!
Thanks for reading,
Uncle Junior

| Welcome to the board.
A well put together and reasoned post, there are those who will disagree, which is their right, but I agree with you.
The only problem is that Rule will only ever leave Hull if Kath Hetherington goes, you and I know he is way out of his depth and should never have been installed as our C.E.O, but unfortunately puppetmasters always like the puppets that do what the strings tell them.

| You make some decent points, although they have been made about 1000 times on here by now.
I disagree with you about the signings, I know at least one of the signings had a better offer than ours but choose to come to Hull after speaking to Agar.
With regards to Rule, Agar and Kath, s fans we will never decides when they go. If Agar fails next year his contract won't be renewed. With regards to the other two they can rightly point to how well the club is performing off the field and say that they are getting things right.
We don't know what will happen next season, I am not a big Agar fan but he is making the right moves in terms of who is coming in and who is going out and it's a clear out that has been needed for a while.

| Thanks for your welcomes and comments, I do realise a lot of the points made are old news but it helped me just to get my feelings off my chest! I should also of ended my post with saying that I realised any prospect of Rule going was completely wishful thinking and us fans have no influence over that, but that doesnt mean it's not what should happen!
I agree with you Paul in that I am very happy with the signings made thus far for next season, but the history of all team sports is littered with sides that have had an excellent playing roster but amounted to nothing because the manager/coach wasnt good enough. Give me next season's squad with any of our previous 3 coaches and I'd be far more optimistic and excited about our prospects than I am at the moment.

I don't disagree with you on the coaching front, i'd love to see an overseas coach come in with a new backroom staff. It would be great to get a new playing roster and a new coaching one too. I just can't see it happening, I think they have committed themselves to giving Agar a shot for next season and the only way that will change is if he walks, which I very much doubt.
Anyway welcome to the asylum.

It's a real [sizeALE[/size problem that the club need to get a grip of before it gets out of control.

Great post which echoes my own sentiments. I actually blame rule more than agar for the current state of the club. After all, he is the one who appointed him and continues to back him. 2 very poor appoitments from the club for me which epitomise the lack of vision within the club

If you mean long, he was always unlikely to sign for saints' arch rivals, especially when they're coached by a man he doesn't get on with
