Where do we go from here???

Morale is at all time low, we have fans arguing amongst ourselves, cheering on the opposition me included because that's how this and last season has got us

We have a coach failing to motivate a team, or improve them in any way shape or form

We have players who are treating the shirt with contempt( not all of them i might add)

We have a chairperson who in her 1st interview tell us we have spent the full cap which is untrue

We have a CEO that would have us believe everything is rosy and like any good chef , you can't prepare a good meal with half the ingridients missing

We are about to be embarrassed on live tv by our arch enemy who have 66% win ratio against in recent derby's since they came in to Super League

Yet despite this we have remained loyal to the cause, however there is going to come a breaking point will a heavy defeat against HKR be that point, and we unite and make a song and dance, make a scene are try to get our great club moving forwards again instead of the rapid decline we are heading

I know as supporters there is a lot of unrest and rightly or wrongly some boo, others applaud but we have a great fan base and imo we deserve a lot better for the effort, cost, and supprt we give the club through a very torrid period

Thoughts Dicuss if you wish???

I can clearly see that this team is e and Agar is not up to coaching at this level.

Really at the end of the day it all boils down to two things:- either the players are not following the coaches game plan and instructions (in which case the players should be dropped or sacked) OR the coaches game plans or instrctions are not working (in which case the coach should be relieved of his position). Simples!!! icon_rolleyes.gif

Best case scenario....

1. We continue to make more quality signings (maybe you can enlighten us further on that one Brother ??) A top class centre, another big forward and some real quality utility players come in.

2. Agar carries out his promised clearout and goes even further than we all thought he would. Radford, King, Thackray, G Horne, Thorman, Lee, Motu, Tickle all leave the club.

3. Season 2010 is a continuation of 2008 & 2009 and after 7 games we are W2 L5 and Agar is sacked.

4. The board/club decide that enough is enough and appoint a proven world class coach who then flies over to find that he has inherited a squad absolutely full of quality.

5. The new era begins with a top class coach in charge of a top class squad and a whole host of trophies start coming our way.

We've got a good, potentially very good, pack next season, and a strong back line. I've still got concerns in the halves as Richard Horne's form has not been what's expected this season and Long's getting on a bit. We'll have some leadership in that group as well - Long, Fitzgibbon and O'Meley for starters.

A couple of things might hold us back however:
1) The coaching set-up. I've mentioned it before, but it would be entirely predictable if we have a poor start to the season, blame it on big changes in the squad taking time to gel, get to 6/8/10 games in and get rid of Agar. The options then are either Jon Sharp on at least an 18 month deal or an Aussie who's out of work (this is usually for a reason). The squad is taking shape on paper, but we need someone who can motivate a team to be greater than the sum of its parts, maximise the effectiveness of every individual, and build a gameplan targetting specifics week in week out. We have no evidence that Agar can do this so far, other than a couple of good games in the Challenge Cup last year.
2) Injuries. For all I moan about them, if we have 6+ players out every week next year, as we have done for the last 2, we will probably be even less able to cope than we have been as we seem to be strengthening the first choice 17. There needs to be a full review as to whether any of the injuries we've had over the last couple of years were avoidable as we've had more than any other team.

Things are good off the pitch, particularly on the commercial and financial front. Even if we end this season poorly, there will probably be enough goodwill for support not to dip too much at the start of the next season and enough new faces to inspire some hope. The die will be cast in the first 6 games though, as the fanbase is becoming sick of excuses when we're still turning up in numbers and doing our bit.

To be honest I'm starting to get fed up with it all together, going to games just gets me worked up and in a bad mood if I'm honest

I've been going since the early 90s, but its starting to get to a point where I just don't care what the club does anymore, there's better ways to spend £23 on a friday night than watching dull uncommitted rubbish like last nights display.

It really does feel like a chore going now with a season pass rather than been exited to watch some exiting rugby. I dread friday/saturday night when were playing.
