| How many times has the KC had a big attendance and weve been rubbish? Its been happening for years - the club hypes a big game up and we fail to turn up. We put in a good performance today and some of the fans who only attend occasionally (because of this same issue) feel that they cant miss the next one - we play poorly and those same fans think same old same old and give it a miss for a while again. Im one of those fans - Its cost me £74 entry today (South 2 x adults & 3 x juniors) plus food, drinks, getting there and back id say thats £150 - we've had a nice day apart from the 80 mins of rugby which cost us half what we spent. Will i be rushing out to buy tickets for the next home game? - I doubt it tbh. There seemed to be lots of very dissapointed fans around us too who were saying they were sick of it - too many false dawns, big crowds and let downs

| I think Seb raises a valid point, we are never going to progress as a club unless we grow crowds and we can't grow crowds beyond the 10/11k core support if we keep letting down the people who dont attend regularly when we lure then in with a ticket offer and/or hype.
Its quite baffling because the team had no issue performing at Wembley, the CC semi or recent Magic Weeeknds in 'big' fixtures and the atmosphere at the KCOM has been quiet but not hostile towards the players.

| how many did leeds bring? 1500? granted they had free coach travel (was this subsidised by the rfl as both clubs were working to market the game iirc), looked a good size following

Looked about that many and made it a better atmosphere, hope the clubs work together again to market games as they may need to if Rovers and Bradford dont sort themselves out.

| The KC just isnt a home for us and the atmosphere is far from intimidating for opposition players. We actually play better away from home when the core supporters lift the team.

Without a doubt. We've been a mid table team, last year apart, for many years, with mid tier resources and decent attendances, yet there's a prevalent attitude of entitlement in some sections of our fanbase. Based on what I'm not sure. As a fan away games are more enjoyable, so can only imagine not dissimilar for players. Fans more vocal and supportive away from home, without a doubt.

But it's wrong to suggest as Mr Marrow did that those who go away are 'core' supporters. Some people just cannot afford to travel away every other week.
As for the home/away record, well the home record over the last year or two is a concern but in 2014 our away record was W2 D1 L10 and we lost the Magic game too. In 2015 we lost nine on the road so it'd be wrong to suggest that the away crowds are more valuable.

| The crowd/atmosphere/being at home has no relevant impact on player performance, a coach/player may say it does but it simply does not.
Oh look I'm more motivated as a player to play better because fans are cheering me, utter gash.
if players are that affected by how much a crowd is cheering then they are mentally weak and/or the mental preparation by the coach is non existant or equally feeble.
Giving away cheap tickets for the Catalans match was a mistake, on the back of last years CC win fans should have being itching to watch the first home game and paid full pop.
Now casual fans are like, meh, you know what I'll wait until we get a £5 offer because there's no way I'm paying £22/£26 to watch that garbage.
I'm a 'casual' attendee in that i don't get to as many games as I'd like, i'll turn up and pay full whack whether we are dog-do or playing great, once I add in travel costs that's £70 straight up but I can do that, it's really when I'm in town/can get up that dictates what games I come to.
for many others though that are deciding whether paying out £xx or even £xxx to come watch us is worth it or a day out somewhere else for a lot less with a guarantee of entertainment/fun that decision is much less likely they'll choose to come watch the rugby.
Times are not what they used to be, there's so much more for families/people to do.

| Got to agree with what's being said.
Sometimes it's like morgue in the kc
1500 Leeds fans were louder than us at times on Friday!
The south east corner fans always try to create some atmosphere
but the rest of the stadium tends to drift in and out as the game goes on.
We should be constantly getting up the oppositions noses give them grief
And intimidation. Classic example was Wigan at home last season,
The fans got on Sam Tomkins case the whole game- and it literally took him out of the game

| From where i was sat in the south east corner it was fairly quiet and most fans where in disbelief at the shocking attempts at tackling senior players were making. But when we got back to within eight points the noise level went right up and we really got behind them then of course yet more dumb decisions by the idiots on the pitch and the mood sank again then once the gap started opening up again everyone thought f**k this and left. It was the players who let the club down against Leeds and not the fans
Just seen the attendance of 15500 so with 2000 from Leeds thats 13500 from FC up about 3000 from normal so 3000 floating fans paid good money to come back and support the team and the players let them all down - those 3000 fans will probably be thinking twice before coming back again soon imo and that was my original point

Good Friday though, lots won't be at work and in seasons previous it's against the bin dippers so fans need a big game to turn up for. i expect the next home game will be around 11,000, if we beat Cas then that could well go up, if we lose miserably then the casual fans will think, sod it, not wasting my money on that.
It's not about being fickle, it's about judging if spending X is worth it (for any given individual) if the entertainment aren't going to make much effort/be a poor spectacle as per the Salford and Leeds games then why should fans be expected to pay good money (just to avoid being called fickle or unloyal as many do) especially if that is running into three figures when taking kids and drinks/food out into account.
