My son turns 5 soon, he is pretty boisterous and has a lot of energy. Thinking about taking him down to a club seeing if he wants to channel it into a sport.

Does anyone know if they have teams/groups for 5 year old's or is it a bit too early.

Would appreciate any help or anyone you can put me in touch with someone that can offer advice.

ps, I have already searched online and found hull and district youth rugby league, I have sent a few E Mails out but they only list form under 8s, not sure if that is the level he will go in at or not.

I am on the Kingswood Area so looking at the clubs in and around that area. Not too fussed how good they are as I don't think it matters too much at that age, just that it is a reliable and well run group.

West Hull on North Road (between Hessle road and Boothferry Road). Probably one of the best in terms on facilities I've been to in Hull other than Cottingham Tigers. Don't know when they train though. Does depend on location though but West Hull club is the best west side of the river.

Saturday mornings. About 10am the Magots i think. Get to hear loads of gossip aswell.

For info , Wyke Cubs train on a saturday morning 10-12 i think and is a great club to be at

east hull have a section for 5-6s my grandson trains with them its on a monday night at 6pm on St richards marfleet lane its non contact just learning basics like ptb/ passing/ tackle bags /touch etc they enjoy it and they burn off some energy you can just turn up and try it for free

Skirlaugh have a Shrimps side I think they take kids from 4, well run club, try the youth rugby league website for Hull

My 8 year old plays for Myton, but his 5 year old brother trains with them on a Saturday morning and loves it.
At Marist rugby club on Cranbrook, as Bet said.

Don't suppose you know when Myton train do you, might take him down for a look one night. thats not too far for me

Myton train at Marist, down Cranbrook Ave. They train Saturday moring 10:00 am.
They however have a home game Tuesday 26th June again West Hull A kick off 18:15.

There is a Hull Isberg Imps but theres currently nothing on them on our website, So I'm guessing they haven't got a team.

Theres an Under 8's team at the lowest i think.

As Hutchie said, the 'cubs' down at Hull Wyke is brilliant and very popular. A lot of my U8s have come up through from that age and it's very worthwhile and a lot of fun for them!

Skirlaugh shrimps take kids from about 4 I think, but as Hutchie said, they can't play contact until they are 6.

They train on a Tuesday night at East park at 6pm.
