Thoughts? Bothered? Not fussed? Potential never really realised?

Doesn't really have the stamina/fitness/mentality to play Rugby League from what I've seen/heard, should do ok in Union with his size. Shame, but he's had 1 and a half years to sort it out and he can't, some people just aren't up to playing RL.

The quality of Rovers trolls really has taken a dip in recent seasons. Have you no promising youngsters coming through the system?

Coaches were trying everything to get him running his weight but didn't have it in him.

Or alternatively has decided isn't good enough.

I know Rotherham tried to sign him 12 months ago, but Hull FC wouldnt release him from his contract. He's still a very young lad so hope he can progress.

When he played Union for Hull RUFC he always played back row, usually at 8, so I can't really understand his planned switch to the wing for Rotherham.

I watched him play as a student and unless Gentle is a heart surgeon he was never going to have a chance to improve Pearce...

It's a shame, sounded like a good prospect for you guys, its a worry how kids in general don't seem to have the drive and desire to do well, not just rugby players.

I don't expect it's drive or desire he lacks, the plain truth is that some people just don't have what it takes to play RL. The physicality and confrontation of RL simply isn't there in RU.

He came, he tried, he went. Best of luck to the lad. I'd be more upset if we as a club were passing over signing these prospects. Better to have loved and lost & all that. If we keep trying with the occasional long shot, one of them will turn out to be a belter.
