HALL TO INVESTIGATE BET CLAIMS
Doncaster chief executive Carl Hall has vowed to investigate after captain Shaun Leaf was accused of betting on the team to lose.
A report in today's Sun newspaper claims Leaf bet on his own team to lose Sunday's
fourth-round Challenge Cup tie against Wakefield by at least 38 points.
Hall is quoted by the newspaper as saying: "There is no place in the game for this.
"If what I'm told turns out to be true, not only will he not be our captain, he won't be at our club."
Engage Super League side Wakefield beat their Co-operative Championship One opponents 50-10 at the Keepmoat Stadium.

sad day for rugby league. But its a pity that a national paper gives 3 whole pages publicising the bad side of rugby league but struggles usually giving a paragraph !!

so i suspect that the sun will be doing a 3 page spread about the weekend fixtures ect then, typical some bad news and there the first to try and put this sport down yet we dont hear of them another other time

that's wrong, they usually have some coverage of SL games on a Monday/Tuesday. |

yeh usually a small paragraph 10 pages in from the back and thats if they can be botherd to put it in the paper normally just put it on the website |

why, because a few hundred thousand people along the M62 follow it?
The Sun doesn't print the results of fishing matches, yet fishing is bigger than rugby league.
RL is of little interest to 99% of the population of the UK, we just have to accept that. |

Is the reason the Sun and other dont cover it because of the above or is not followed by 99% of the population because the Sun and others dont cover it. I have no interest in school rugby (and I suspect neither do 99.99% of the population) but it dosent stop the Dail Mail giving it more coverage than a normal Super League weekend. |
