| im more thankful to the thousands of fc fans that buy season passes and merchadise year on year even when the board f@ck up like they do..... playing ineligable players, salary cap anomilies, having players on the books with un signed contracts, alienation of its supporters but apart from that they are fine

Yet the infrastructure, business model, youth development and community programme ensured we were one of only 3 clubs to get an A grade license.
With all due respect, the only transgression you cite that is Rule's responsibility is the Thackray registration one, and he admitted responsibility for that. The hard measure for how "alienated" the supporters are is attendances and merchandise sales, and on the basis of the evidence of record numbers of season passes and merchandise turnover, I'd say supporters are actually fairly engaged in what the club is trying to achieve. To be fair to Rule, after the succession of feck-ups you cite and the requests from supporters for more dialogue, we've had lots of communication initiatives by the club. Airlie Night every week with regular appearances by Rule and senior players, Tell Us, Call a Director, 4 fans forums a year (that Rule and Agar attend), FC Voices etc. Some of these may seem contrived, but they compare pretty favourably with what is offered by other clubs - some have only one forum a year and no board level representation at it for example.
I'm not saying the current regime is perfect by any means, but in the context of the financial performance and communication channels of the rest of the competition we've got very little to complain about (world class coaching debate aside )

| "The club’s wage bill increased by £290,000 to £3.44m – more than 70% of its turnover – although the salary cap limits the players’ wage bill to £1.65m."
Almost 2m million in wages other than players? That seems quite a bit.
No doubt Jimmy has done a good job, good Hymers boy that he is!

Maybe some of the players' wives are employed in well-paid administrative roles.
The thing about Saints is that they own Knowsley Road which is valued at £8.1m, so have positive net assets to the tune of £1.5m despite accumulated losses.

| Imo yes, we should be thankful.
Firstly to the fans who year on year. Continually renew passes, buying merchandise etc, even when on field results over last few seasons have been disappointing to say the least.
And secondly to the board. Yes we may not agree with a lot of their ways, but they have given the fans numerous ways i.e forums to put across their views and to an extent given a good account of themselves when answering.
The club is in a very stable condition, which most clubs probably can't say they are.
Last seasons clearout was the first major step in moving forward and now addressing value for player contracts. Now that more contracts are coming to an end the club is putting it into force, and if certain individuals value themselves more than the club then they can move on.
Agar is a big part of it aswell. Don't get me wrong, I haven't been one of biggest fans but improved league position, playing staff and if rumours true more to come, then I think we should be thankful, for now anyway.. just my opinion tho.

can you name a single decision reversed because of the opinion of the fans? (out of interest)

mate, I am over that, much more important things have happened in my life since that all came up, it was a genuine question, I know FCVoices have had some limited wins, but t suggest the forums are anything other than a back slapping opportunity seems incorrect to me.
